i dare you to name a band who has better vocals than iron maiden

Hansi Kürsch (think I got that right).

Chuck Schuldiner.

King Diamond.

Hell, just about any vocalist I have on my Zune (probably around 50-60 different artists/bands) is better than that guy.  But, in all honesty, I hate Iron Maiden with a passion. 

Ozzy Osbourne? Robert Plant? CleanPlayer

There is no way in hell that Ozzy has a better voice.

The best metal singer range-wise is Geoff Tate of Queensryche, hands down.

The most powerful metal singer is Ronnie James Dio.

Really? I only liked a few songs like "Mr. Jack". Mesmerize was OK but I was a fan of Hypnotize. My favorite track was "She's Like Heroin". Toxicity is still their best though

The only people who have better vocals than Bruce Dickinson are people who

1) Have a cleaner voice

2) Can hold a steady pitch and vibrato longer than him

3) Have a higher range, and number of styles

And there aren't many people who outmatch Bruce in all 3 of his singing styles.

And yes, this thread is stupid because it refers to any musical genre. There are so many good singers out there that it's extremely hard to compare. Now if this thread as solely about metal, there wouldn't be much artists that could compare.

Another poster mentioned STP. Astute observation. Scott has an amazing voice. Overlooked.

Steal This Album was "eh,"  Mesmerize had no good songs on it, and Hypnotize was an even bigger "eh."  And I'd agree there, Toxicity was their best.

in terms of metal, i would say daniel gildenlow from pain of salvation and russell allen can sing just as well as bruce, hell i think they can win american idol easily if were an actual singing competition.
