While half my school are calling me goth, the other half are calling me chav (all of them are calling me shemale (I'm use to that though :(, just cause I like boyish things)) and I don't know who I am no more. I like a load of music, WHAT IS WRONG WITH THAT!!! ugh, I hate England, I'm such an outsider just cause I like a lot of stuff "normal" people don't. And it's fine being yourself but not if because of it you only have 2 friends of which one is always locked away in his room and the other is a solid goth who ends up round some guys house basically ALL THE TIME!

It's hardest to be yourself in high school. I fell into conformity eventually, even though it wasnt the kind that was expected of me. My advice is to tough it out. Since its more important to be yourself than to be something your not.

Dont wish away your teen years because next thing you know you wil have your own apartment and you'll be struggling to pay rent. I know that popularity seems important right now but its really not. If people dont like you then they arent worth knowing in the first place. And its not only England that's like that either.

Just dont make it so that you look back on your teen years in regret.

All these high schools in other countries seem like such hellholes. Everyone just gets along at my school (Australia). To be honest I was looking forward to the challenge.

Don't worry those times are over in a flash.  Those people are usually the ones that after high school have no life and aren't doing anything productive anyways.  Believe me I know, I was the same way in high school.  Looking back on what the people were like in hs and the way they are now, I'm glad I stayed true to myself.  Even though in my darkest hour I could have ended up being like them, I wasn't that way.  You are better off.

Dont worry, it happenes to me and a few friends, We get a load of abuse because my hair is long lol,

Be your self, dont let all them stuck up chavs in your school change the way you think or dress or what music you like

It goes to show you that looks do mean something. Doesn't matter what kind of person you are. If you dress like a goth or whatever you should expect some nasty comments. Tough it out or tone it down a bit

Just go the hip-hop path. isten to hip-hop and wear clothes just like the black people (wide jerseys) and people are going to think UR cool.

this is a very wrong place to try and get help on life lessons... Most readers here are adolesence and not very schooled in life (no offence dudes). What i have and still do find attractive in a person is their individuality and independance. Someone who does not get swayed in doing what the mainstream is doing. No one is really alone, out of 6+ Billion people on this planet you will find your equal or friends. There's a very good South African saying that goes like this "Every pot has its lid" so everyone has that someone for them. All will be revealed in time. Remember Patience is the hardest thing to do but most rewarding.

1. Is other people's image of you really that important mate? 2. Why should you have to change yourself so other people like you? 3. If they don't like you in the first place...you know...personally I'd just tell 'em to 'take a hike'. Eventually you'll realise that there's other things to worry about in life than who is seen as cool...

What grade are you in? Becuase in my high school,  people are accepted for who they are. We're mature enough to see through appearances. My old middle school on the other hand.....
