i mean, say if someone puts a video of a band playing at a concert, isn't that kind of like free advertising? then, when the record company finds it, they immediately take it off of youtube due to copyright infringement. it's not like the person who posted the video is getting any money from it, why do they take them off? pride?
for example, i watched a video of "the doors" video "people are strange", and then i wanted to show it to my friend, but then i went back a few days later, and it was removed due to copyright mumbo jumbo...and it had 800,000+ views! i know i first got into the doors on youtube, and immediately bought one of the albums...
the point is, i don't know why companies and corporations would delete videos like that when it is only sharing it to the world and may even end up making a buck for them in the long run...
does anyone else agree with me?
