Which team? I was whermacht player myself..
Anyways, form is always important. and what kind of running are you doing endurance? You need to really vary your works to be effective endurance runner. Spend a day doing sprints, a day on hills a day doing distance, and a day doing two-3 miles timed and try to beat that. It takes a balanced diet, and running with a buddy always helps cause it gives you a competitve mentality to help push the other one along.
With running form, don't kick your feet up, keep your hands slightly open and not clinched. A lot of people cross there arms over there chest. that restricts breathing don't do it. ANd keep your arms below your hips.
Sorry to say but runners are born, not made.
Not much you can do to increase your time by much, how you're physically built plays a large part in it. One of the ways to speed your self up some is by pumping your arms faster. For some people losing weight will increase their speed a little (granted these people are overweight in the first place).
I can beat most people in a sprint, but I'm awful at long distance. Cpt_Meh
i'm the complete opposite, but when i finish a sprint i could just keep going at that speed for 400m+ with no problems
There are 2 kinds of people.
Marathon runners who have shorter (Or is it longer, I cant remember) muscle fibers in their legs, which allows them to run long distance, but much slower. Then there are sprinters, who have the longer (Or is it shorter, I cant remember) muscle fibers in there legs, who can run very short distances in record time, but cant run long distances.
Maybe you are not ment to run fast.
There are also alot of things you could work on that could help you run alittle faster. Your hamstrings (Running alone is not enough to work them out, you need to put weight on them for them to grow), same for your quads, gluts, calves, your back muscles, adductor muscles, and your abdomin muscles. Go to the gym and work out all your muscles below your pecs. A good diet and good rest will also help you....
I used to be the fastest runner at my school, and I used to run long distances with ease. Untill my car accident, afterward I could barely walk, so I haven't really ran for the past 3 years.
i'm a slow runner too, my muscles just don't move that fast though i can run endurance at a good speed easily, getting your cardio up in general might helpmarkop2003lol normally it was me and you leading the pack during PE.....then again everyone else just walked it.

still managed to lap 3/4 of the top set though in the 1km run though
I've been running for almost a year and yet I'm still slow. I don't understand why I'm good at video games and not running. I don't want to tell someone I was rank 75 in Company of horoes. I want to tell them I broke 5 minutes in my mile this year. I try so hard every day at practice. Every weekend I train just as hard as i do on school days. It's the only sport I have ever truely love and I'm awful at it. I'm in 9th grade and i run a 5k run at 22:46. can someone please give me some advice!?XxSPAZxX
Sounds like this is your first sport and you've only been doing it for almost a year? You my friend need to run a lot more.
Ok, so there are many aspects to be a good long distance runner.
Muscle is important for obvious reasons.
Height. The longer strides you take the better.
Weight. The lighter you are, the less resistance, and you can move faster.
Endurance is needed to last a long time without slowing down.
Breathing. Control your breath rate or else you could exhaust yourself.
Technique. Little things that you with the way you run can tire you out.
You can't expect to become an amazing runner quickly. And I know what you'll say, but for things like this, one and a half years isn't a long time for training if you only just started.
And some people are just naturally built for running. Myself, I'm not tall, but my legs are long in comparison to the rest of my body. I also have a slow heartrate, so I don't need to breath as hard. Thus, I can make a kilometer in five minutes.
Lol, it takes me half of an hour to "run" the mile. Well, back when I had P.E., I would just walk and talk with my friends, as if speed matters in the real world.MGSFan92
Speeds matters depending on what you do. (ie: Emergency workers like cops and firemen.)
So who cares if you can run under 5 minutes? I'm just wondering because you seem to think that it's almost loserish to be better at video games than running. Ghost_702
I think the point he was getting at was bragging rights. Running is more glorified than gaming.

Work harder is all I can say, and don't eat as much junk food, if you do at all.
This is why I hate running and working out: you can't just work hard, you have to work mind-blowingly hard until you almost through up. If you think you are working hard now, double your goals and and do it twice as often.awsss
Working out doesn't mean working until you're sick. It means working until your muscles tell you that that's enough. (Like when you start feeling too much pain and/or tiredness to go on.) As long as you workout at least three times a week, you'll see results overtime. (Just rest for a day in between each big workout.)
I don't see the point in running honestly, unless you're conditioning for a real sport. You're just wasting your time kid, do something productive.dhruv989
Like playing video games?

Why not? Rank 75 in Company of Heroes is great! :P
Don't worry I'm a horrible runner too. It took me about 8 minutes to run the mile. I hate running, so that doesn't contribute much. omfg_its_dally
It took me 12.25 min. :|
