The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster!!!

The Flying Spaghetti Monster (also known as the Spaghedeity) is the deity of a parody religion called The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and its system of beliefs, "Pastafarianism". The religion was founded in 2005 by Bobby Henderson to protest the decision by the Kansas State Board of Education to require the teaching of intelligent design as an alternative to biological evolution. Intelligent design implies the existence of an intelligent but not necessarily omnipotent or omniscient designer, thus some, like Henderson, argue that this designer could be anything imaginable.

Pirates are the true pastafarians and directly affect Global Warming. Pastafarians celebrate international talk like a pirate day on September 19th.

The thing that annoys me the most about this is that the people take it so seriously. I was talking to someone who clams to be into this and he had a dead serious face on (like this :| ) while telling me why he joined.

It's a crying shame that this made-up religion doesn't get the same legal protection and tax exemptions as other more popular religions that were made-up centuries earlier.

Or perhaps its a crying shame that any religions get legal protection or tax exemption at all.
