I got a parking ticket with wrong plate numbers.

I was at school and parked in an area I wasn't supposed to. So I got a ticket but on the ticket the plate number was wrong by one character. I went online to my schools parking website to look up my fee, I typed my correct plate number and it says I have no ticket but when I type the wrong plate number it has a ticket fee. The ticket has my vin number also. Has this ever happened to any of you? and what did you do? can I get away with this?

Pay the ticket.

Maybe if you go check on it they will wave it for honesty. Probably not, but I say give it a shot!

I got a speeding ticket once where they listed me as female.

If you get a future one, and they record your VIN again, I could see someone noticing the license plate error, and calling you out for the unpaid ticket. Don't get anymore tickets, and I'd wager you'll get away with it.

Let the other person pay the ticket, thus disobeying the law.

After all, you are more important than society. Being honest and right just makes for a stronger community and better people, who wants that when you can be selfish?

That's a risk, though. By the time he gets another ticket, his previous ticket might have gone so long without being paid that he gets arrested for not paying the ticket.

And out of the list of things to go to jail for, traffic violations are pretty stupid.

That's a risk, though. By the time he gets another ticket, his previous ticket might have gone so long without being paid that he gets arrested for not paying the ticket.

And out of the list of things to go to jail for, traffic violations are pretty stupid.

He said "school's parking website", which suggests to me it's not a legal thing that he could get arrested for. Sounds more like a situation where the worst case scenario is the school holds on to his diploma until he pays the ticket.

Do not pay the ticket. Just drop out of school and go into hiding.

I'm not sure if the police arrest people for ONE unpaid ticket of a small amount. Prisons would be bursting with people if they did.
