Whenever I would run or walk for a long amount of time, my legs get really sore from the knee down, and it hurts to sit on the ground, stand, and walk. Is there a reason why they do that, and how I can stop the pain and soreness?

Sounds like you have shin splints, icing it could keep it down for a short while.judog1Ice did nothing at all for me. The only way I could get rid of it was cutting exercise down to almost zero for about a month, and then starting up very, very gradually. I also ditched my crappy old running shoes after finding out they were completely unsuited to my running style, so maybe that helped a lot too.
