I'm jealous I guess. I'm going to music college so they don't really require grades they just want musical dedication and a strong prior backing of musical knowledge. On my SAT's (minus writing) I got like a 950-1000. With writing I got approximately a 1350.
Horrible test taker, I'm crazy I think it's my whole future that will pass me by right in that moment if I do bad and I get wicked nervous.

I got a 1500 IIRC when I took them earlier this year. I know I could have done better but 5 hrs is way too long for a test, and I lost focus about 3 1/2 hrs into it.

I got around a 1300 on the old SAT. Isn't the new one out of 2600 or something like that?

Yeah, minus the writing I got an 1100. Most colleges dont even consider the writing based on the idea that the grading system is inefficient. Still, 1100 is pretty basic. Im aiming for at least a 1250 or higher. I want to get into Berkeley and in order to do that Im going to have to raise my scores a bit. My senior year im going to be doing a lot of extra curricular activities. Those, along with my SAT scores and my grades should balance out and give me a pretty good chance.

I got a 1350 when I took them, but that was back when there was no writing part and they were out of 1600...so 1350 was good back then.

Can't you only get a multiple of 10 as your score?

Thats a high writing score you got there, I'm a bit jealous, to be honest. I had the same score but I kind of broke evenly with my scores. Writing was my lowest score.

I got a 1540... :(

Critical Reading - 520

Math - 570

Writing - 450

           Multiple Choice - 45

           Essay - 7

Do i add the Essay in?  So, that totals out to be 1540.  I'm pissed.

I envy you Canadians. At least you guys don't have to put up with such a BS education system pre-college.

i like how one stupid 5-hour long test can determine your entire future.

God bless america and its "education" system

Kolomo

Failing your driving test can determine a lot about your future as well. Do you hate that too? Saying the education system is flawed because of a test or two is moronic.

I haven't taken my ACT for over 10 years, but last time I checked they are offered over 5 times a year.

I went to take the SAT on the 5th, but the administrator showed up 3 and a half hours late, saying she overslept... Then they tried to tell us she was sick.... Then they told us we could still take the test but I left. Im glad i did though because everyone who took the test had their scores invalidated becasue they didnt pick up cell phones........

Good thing they let us make it up for free

That's fine then, as long as schools don't see your other score you could write it again. So it's not like one test ruins your whole life.

I think 8 is the highest you can get, but the papers I sat only allowed me to get 7's in science and English. The expected score for someone of my age was 6, I think. I took those tests three years ago. In the UK you do SATs in years 2, 6 and 9. The expected scores increase each time. So in year 2, the scores expected were 2's and 3's.
