I tried it under parallels and couldn't get anything to work, like Beryl etc.

Mac OS X does not truly use Unix, it merely hacks and deforms the engine to decipher the drivers.
Anyways, Ubuntu is a fairly nice operating system, with nice eye candy with Compiz.

Not for me though, as game emulating on a Linux distribution is fairly difficult and unstable.

Ubuntu is Linux not Unix and Mac is designed from the Mach Kernel which is taken from BSD which is a Unix operating system and yes Linux gaming isnt stable yet, unless it supports OpenGL out of the box

I tried running ubuntu from the live CD but i couldnt enable any eye candy :(

wanted me to install drivers.. then when i did i wanted me to restart.. and when i eventually got back into the live CD it wanted me to install drivers :roll:

I love Ubuntu. It runs all of my games at full speed through WINE. I'm leaving Windows for good.

XD once you restarted you had to take out the CD :lol:
