That's exactly it. I was a special ed kid in high school. You think I was popular? Popular kids are the ones who enjoy high school because of all their friends. I didn't fit in worth crap.

To top if off, you do have difficulty in some classes. I'm not an East Asian kid who knows calculus. I remember this one Asian kid who f*cking smiled while he did his pre-calculus (or maybe it WAS calculus) homework. Hell, I had to switch to a math skills class (very basic math) because I was getting a D in geometry concepts, which is pretty much basic geometry.

Plus, I never got a girlfriend (no surprise there) thanks to mediocre social skills. Hell, I barely fit in with the friends that I did have. I did have occasional times where I was (or felt) bullied and negatively judged. One time there was a group of Mexican kids throwing food at me, and I'm like what the hell? Because of teenage raging hormones, I was paranoid as f*ck. I would walk in the halls, and so many people were staring at me, much of the time with ominous facial expressions. I never did sh*t to anyone in high school because I was so socially inept. I could barely stand up for myself, let alone actually try to f*ck with somebody else. I'm still wondering how I'm gonna survive in this modern complicated society. I feel as if I was born in the wrong time of human history.

F*ck me.

So, unless you're popular, very smart, or both, generally, high school isn't a pleasurable experience.

Give yourself a good advice from me: Solve ALL of your problems before moving on to college.

Problems tend to manifest into something very bad in college.

Isn't grade 9 math like x+3=5, solve for x?

Da_lil_PimP

No, that's grade 3.

If you hate it so much, do well, go to summer school, and study graduation requirements. Maybe then you'll figure out how to shave a few years off your attendance so you won't have to deal with it much longer (i.e. graduate early).

If you hate college just as much, rinse and repeat (and maybe take a few CLEP exams).

[QUOTE="helwa1988"]Only on TV and fantasy land do they say high school is the best 4 years of your life. High school is horrible. Kids are mean. Boys only have 1 thing on their mind. Why would girls self esteem be at it's lowest point ? Girls are pretty much worshipped aren't they ? I feel like girls just have this huge social advantage in high school.

Where are people going to high school? I barely had homework and it was pretty much a breeze. I guess that's why my school district is one of the worst. :P And if it's hard at your high school, college will be worse depending on where you go and lots of other factors. I wasn't used to much homework and papers and wow they just slammed it in my face in college. I used to think 5 pages was long when I first got assigned that many, but now it isn't as long. I hear people talking about 20 pages and I am like O_O.

Not if the said girl is unattractive. Boys (and girls) will be mean to these types. Some attractive girls have the self esteem issue, too. There's a lot of jealousy between girls too in high school. Lots of bullying, which is why some of them are killing themselves.

It's not all bad. College is way better- but highschool really isn't too bad. Take it easy. Take a new route to class, find more time to relax, and think. Anything to break the monotony.

I know I'm only a freshman in high school, but so far I absolutely hate it. They say it's the best four years of your life, other then college and that seems bull to me. Tons of homework every night, a lot of pressure from my parents to get good grades, which is driving me crazy. All my classes are super boring and I could barely stay awake in them. Even though some of my classes are pretty hard and I should be paying attention. My high school is very large with over 4500 kids that attend the school. Though, my friends do make it better, I just really don't see how anyone can say high school is the best four years of your life. I already miss junior high. So, how did you guys like high school? And does anyone have or had the same issues I've been having?

High school is really rough, I'm not going to lie. Not only are there a ton of social changes to deal with, but you also have physical changes. There is peer pressure around every corner and everyone struggles to fit in their "clicks." More than ever grades are no longer good enough to get into college. Extracurricular and community involvement are huge. On top of that you should have a job and have to buy a car. There is a lot of pressure on high school kids and it sucks, I went through it. The best thing you can do is find friends who do the right thing, avoid drugs, and study your ass off. Work hard and find some clubs you actually enjoy. Just do your best and don't get bugged down in the social pressures. Don't be afraid to ask for help too if you need it.

I'm a junior in high school right now, and the workload has never been too much of an issue for me. No matter how much problems I have with procrastination, I'm always able to get things done and attain good marks, though I finished with a 69% in the university math course I took this semester (due to bad circumstances preventing me from studying for the final exam).

What's always grinded my gears was the social aspect part of it, especially since I had a lot of bad experiences in middle school and my first two years of high school with the other kids. Now in junior year, it's not too bad; I'm by no means the freaky kid that eats lunch in the bathroom or anything like that, but I'm not making my time in high school the memorable experience that everybody and their dog makes theirs out to be. It just leaves me a little apathetic for the future, like I'm doomed to a miserable existence without any pleasure. I just feel like I'll never get to have fun and experience a good time. :(
