I had my ipod connected to my computer so it can charge. my idiotic brother purposely pulls the ipod's usb out of its port. all my songs are deleted. I'm indifferent because i can just sync my ipod to itunes and everything will be fine. but when i try to sync it says it is unable to sync and it shows (-48).

Yup. My friend did that with her iPod on accident. She bought a new one though.

But to tc... I don't know. Contact apple or your local iTunes store. Also try completely resetting your iPod.

Call Apple Customer Support, You Won't Be Able to Re-Format it due to it not being able to sync.

Also, kill your brother. :)

You should able to reformat it on itunes when it is plugged in. Your ipod should come up under devices, then look at the main screen it should have a restore button.

if it isn't even recognized by itunes, put it in disk mode first then try to.

make an account here, most people on these forums can help you, plus it is really active. They have helped solve many a ipod problems. Better than the apple forums.
