I have a question about Twilight...

Okay, so I haven't read the book or watched the movie. I did, however, see many trailers for the movie, and in one the girl says to the vampire boy "your skin is cold as ice". From what I understand from the majority of vampire folk-lore, vampires are indeed suppose to be cold to the touch. So, my question is, wouldn't that make sex just horrible? Does the lead girl get off by having a popsicle up there? Or is there some other explanation to this?

It probably does to people reading the story. . .

My sister has been doing a research paper on the book and trashing it as crap while comparing it to Lolita. She has told me about how in the fourth book, the vampire marries the girl (whose only flaw is clumsiness, which is basically unlike every single character in the history of quality literature) and when they have sex, he physically abuses and injures her... and this is supposed to be a "romance."

Don't get me started on the complete ass-handing the book requires for totally messing up every single piece of vampire folklore and myth with its main vampire character sparkling in the sunlight. Not only is he able to go out IN the sunlight, he ****ing sparkles.

These are just the Harlequin Romance novels for teenage girls.

he doesnt neccesarily abuse her, its just his skin is like marble so it brusies her and physically hurts her, and it was something she wanted... dumb.. i know..

well they don't have sex till the last book and he is as cold as ice works out nicely because they go down to south america and hae sex while down there and it works because...it is so hot down there that having sex with him isn't uncomfortable but instead wonderfuly cooling.

I also hate to be the one to share this bad news but the books are read and bought by adult women mostly at the age of a college level and are read by many very intellegent women. surprising yes but reality a 14 year old isn't able to understand some things that happen in the book, if you haven't read it your opinion is flawed by bias and doesn't make sense. They are meant for women and meant ot be personal and in no way is it mormon propoganda either people say read the thread before posting so why not read the book before posting about it to? That way your opinions have some reason to them other then I think they suck even though I haven't read them.
