All my friends drink and smoke weed. And now I only have friends at work. But most of them are older.cool_baller

Meh, it's no big deal. I was picked on in Primary, had hardly any friends. Then in Highschool I met all sorts of new people and got along with everyone. I had a lot of friends by the end of 12th grade. Two years out of Highschool and my group of friends I can probably count on one hand.
I'm an apprentice so I work full time, so people don't bother talking to you anymore unless you're doing the things they do. I also have little free time to go socialise with people while they're all on their Uni break. Then the friends I thought would last a long time turned out to be fake or whipped or not as trustworthy as you were to them. So yes, I have very few friends now myself. Life's like that.

I am not into drugs. Life isn't drugs. They aren't a way of life, thats why addicts fail. They (addicts) take a good thing and they take it WAY too far. Just dabble a bit and open your mind, and never knock anything till you try it. You will discover worlds within yourself and in that discovery might unlock barriers preventing you from forming new friendships.
It's probably due to your environment, whether work, school or community. I had great friends in VA, but once I moved down to FL, I made maybe one friend but not a great friend.

True. I do sports and other activities at school so I'm involved with a lot of people. I live in VA BTW.

I am not saying weed is bad, it's not addicting. I just have no desire what so ever to try it. Kind of like homework. ;)Wow no friends. That really sucks.Well, don't feel too bad.I only have a small handful of actual, true, real friends.Eventually you will meet the people that you'll just click with. They'll be the only friends you need. :)NakedSnake25I'm friends with cereal boxes :)

Out of all the phrases that should be banned on the Gamespot board, this should be the only one. It's annoying in every thread and what one should post in thier blog and in a post in the OT is in the perspective of the poster.
I feel odd making a serious statement about something like this, but I'm going to do it anyways just because its something that I've been thinking about lately. What I've found out is that the older you get the less you need friends. Being in a relationship really helps, but even then all you really need is a couple of good people in your life. I'm still in that transitional period with a year out of high school...and highschool will make you feel like you need to be popular and be friends with everyone, then in college all of that crap fades away. Of course be friendly with people you work with, go to class with or whatever, but the older you get the more you realize that you can still be perfectly happy being independent. Now you should definitely always have at least someone else in your life that you feel close to...and if you truly dont have that all you can do is join clubs or classes or try something new and it will happen. But yeah, I really started to dislike some of the people I hung out with in high school and I got down for a while until I realized that I don't need to be friends with everyone.
Basicallyit's just a reminder that the real world after high school istotally different....so dont take it too seriously or come to these sweeping assumptions if you're hating aspectsof your life.
I have never had a true friend in my life, and have no friends at all atm. Never had a gf, etc. Its not like I'm ugly or have some weird problem.
I'm 19 and just dispise small talk. I'm horrible at it, which leaves a lot of bad first impressions. Most people are shallow and usually are quick to judge. (I wear a lot of black metal tee shirts).
A lot has to do with the community. Where I live its sucks. None of my neighbors are nice, and most don't even speak english. (Philipino).
Not to be harsh, but you aren't going to make any friends complaining about having no friends. Don't look for sympathy, look for some friends. If you put work or school or all that other crap ahead of your life then what's it all for? You only get one life so I say enjoy as much of it as you can. Wake up every morning feeling like if you die today, you've had a good time. Go out, get smashed, smoke some weed if you want and then return to life as normal when the weekend is over. Not everyone is going to like you and you aren't going to like everyone, but if you aren't going to take a risk or two then what's the damn point? If you think you're a nerd go where you'll meet nerds. Go to internet cafes... or I dunno... where ever else nerds go. Just go out and have fun anyway. Live for the weekend. You'll thank yourself for it.

I used to say that I hated small talk too. But that's not really what the issue is. If you can find a way to genuinely be interested in people then the small talk thing will take care of itself and you'll no longer have that self-consciousness or awkwardness with new conversations. Seriously, if you truly get yourself interested in a person and a conversation talking will be easy and maybe new doors will open in your life. By sayingthat you hate small talk means you're not evenallowing any opportunitesor new connections to happen.I'm sure there are some circumstances with your situationthat I'm not aware of though. But maybe something I said will make sense to you.

aren't you that guy who got owned by a girl on myspace?
I don't use Myspace, so wrong guy I guess.

the problem is that I do indeed want to start relationships, but I have trouble finding commonalities (especially with girls). I don't drink, and that seems to be the most popular thing to do for the age group I am apart of. (especially with the scene of music I like)
When I get home, I do not talk to any real friends. Meh___Guy
Ha ! I have 96 friends !! I even have an emblem for it !!
.....Oh, you mean real as in real life friends??

But what happens when your a person that takes a while to make a response to something that happened. I can never seem to find something to say unless I have it predicted in my mind already (so I'll just smirk). Which leads me to being quite (hell I don't even make a sound when I get hurt). That and I may find some common grounds with people, but it's usually something small, not to mention I'm more of the advice person who'll try to help out anyone who is having problems. Thats like the time when I really can talk. Also I have this thing that I feel I'm not alowwed to talk until I'm spoken to.
