I hit a girl...(read first)

Alright, first off, let me give the info first. I was 17, and the girl was 14. Our parents were family friends, but the girl and I never got along. We were at the beach in the water, and I was on my surfboard and I accidently went by her and knocked her off her body board. She flips out and starts pulling my hair. I push hr off me, and then she comes back and pulls my hair again. I punch her in the stomach a couple times to get her off me again, before her mom came and broke it up.

Afterwards, my parents were just giving me a lecture, "don't hit girls" and then I gave ashallow apology to her. Was I wrong? I mean, afterall, she started it. And I hardly think being a girl is a viable excuse, especially when you start the fight.

You should have just given her a good 'ol backhand across the face.

I think it would be okay to hit a girl if she was actually a threat to you in some way and other options have failed, the same applies to hitting a boy. But this doesn't sound like this is the case with your situation. You are 17 and she is a 14 year old girl. Was punching her "in the stomach a couple times" really the only way to make her stop, especially when her parents were apparently right there?

So yeah, I think you were in the wrong. Yeah, she shouldn't have pulled your hair or anything in the first place, but that doesn't make your actions any better.

Well, I'm having a girl issue too at the moment but I already figure out what I'm gonna do I can't recommend my advice because she's way to young. Next time just scream at the top of your lungs random profanities like random crap no one has ever heard of before and that'll get a crowd looking at you and she'll stop.Fightingfan

Edit- You don't direct the cuss words at the girl make them seem like they're directed towards no-one so people think you're crazy.

I know girlsthat are 14-17, and they can beat the crap out of guys twice their age... not because they are 'manly' or have great physical prowess... but because they are f--ing sociopathic.

Seems like you are at fault no matter what, if you dont like that person why would you even be around them? I know if I was goiing to the beach and I knew someone I know that was going that I didn't like, I wouldn't even bother to go in the first place. You are 17 years old, you got no right to be hitting girls well I should say you should not be hitting girls.. Whats gonna happen when you turn 18 and hit the wrong girl and get you arressted and you go to jail or prision or something like that. I know you dont wanna be nobodys girl in jail and prision. NO one wants to be anyones girl in jail/prision.
