I just found out that my neighbor is a sex offender...

I just checked this website...http://www.familywatchdog.us/....and found out that my neighbor is indeed a sex offender. Charged with Child Molestation, rape, and assault when he was in his 20s.

This is pretty shocking to me since ive been living next to him for quite some time now.

The guy lives with his mom, he is around his late 30s...and is 6 feet tall and weighs around 220 pounds. I know for a fact that he doesnt leave the house very often, but when he does he either mows the lawn or throws out the trash.

and we live like a block away from a elementary school, so kids walk down our block to go home :| :shock:

His mom is extremely bi***y towards me and my family because of some stupid stuff. She is around idk 60 years old?

anyways...pretty creepy stuff....

Keep an eye out, and make sure the kids that pass your house are safe.

i originally was going to make a joke, but that's pretty creepy. It seems like there would be a law preventing sex offenders, especially the juvenile variety from moving within a certain distance from an elementary school.johnnyv2003

You know, he is probably living there with her name on all of the lease/owner information. Government probably doesnt even know.

If you want to get really involved with the situation you can report the fact that he is living there and in most states considering the proximity of the school they will force him to move or arrest him for sex offender regulation violations.

How long have you been living next to him? If all that time you never thought much of him and nothing "strange" happened then I'd say to just keep an eye out, but don't make such a big deal about it.

well the thing is his mom lived here before my parents bought the house which was 18 years ago....The mom's son ( the sex offender ) just moved in with her 1 or 2 years ago ( somewhere around in 2006) . Im guessing he was released from prison or something.

Just leave him alone. It was nearly 2 decades ago. He may have changed and for all you know, he may be a really nice guy. I absolutely DESPISE the concept of a sex offender list. It ruins peoples life. I am a firm believer that people deserve a second chance, but when you are a registered sex offender, it is hard to get that second chance. I actually feel sorry for him :(.Redneck33

well i did say he never comes out of the house :P maybe hes trying to avoid from being seen by the police. But then again his information AND address is on that website....so idk lol

Maybe it is legal then. I thought I had heard child molestors weren't allowed within a certain distance of schools, I mean, it seems logical. I just looked up my neighborhood and found there's a child molestor who lives a few blocks down, which is also a few blocks away from an elementary school.
