I'm sure racism will never disappear.

Why sadly? :?
[QUOTE="Bluestorm-Kalas"]
But the best jokes are racist jokes. That's not fair, you can't take that away from us.
cyborg9
yeah but think of the world if everyone was equal, im pretty sure half the wars would be reduced by half or there wouldnt be any. Keep that in mind
Humanity will never be equal. We always want what we don't/can't have. Its unnatural to want to be equal. Then where would survival and ambition fit it?
Wow dude. Do you realize racism is not only in the US? Its a global thing and not to mention, its been going on for THOUSANDS of years. Hate to say it, but its here to stay...

Uh... negative. You are mistaken, you need to re-evaluate.
I would have thought that you would have realized how to spell realize right with that kind of topic title, at least. Tsk.

Dude...history is not a linear progression.
There's no "we're more tolerant of black than we were 150 years ago, so therefore we'll forever get increasingly more tolerant to blacks".
People come a long way and then fall. People falls a long way and then rises. We're not looking at a linear progression here, we're looking at peaks and troughs. That's true socially, technologicslly, morally.
Furthermore, humans have been alive for hundreds of thousands of years. Anything happening in the last few hundred years is NOT an indication of how humanity "progresses". That's like meeting a 40 year old man at the bar, spending two minutes watching him drink booze, and then using that experience as a means of predicting what he's going to be doing 10 years from now. Modern human history is but a single moment in the scale of the entire time that people existed.
Race relations in the U.S. (just focusing on the U.S. for right now) have obviously come a long way since the country's founding, but we still have a long way to go before racism is no longer an issue. LZ71
It will always be an issue. I think it's so cute that people think the few changes within a short time have suddenly solved the nature of being. Did you ever stop to think that order is more important that conflict. Things can always go back to the way they were. Current laws areOUR laws, but the next generation or even my generation can change those laws.
There's a standard to community. People have to prove their selves to be something other than amalicious element. So if people don't approve ofyou theywill class youwith the rest of the rejects and it will probably be defined by a negative racial stereotype. So if you don't work hard to be able toafford a home in a good neighborhood you'll have to live with all the rejects. Property value also reflects who you don't live by. You're paying for security by paying a price the others can't afford. That's why they refer to NON-whites as minorities, because upper class neighborhoods are 95%-98% white. In lower class neighborhoods white people are the minority there. We're still segregated, not by force, by wealth.
So knowing this you think racism is dissolving? No, it's just been evolving and due to the cycle of life it will never stoprevolving.
I never put too much thought into racism, because when I was young I didn't understand it. They made it out to be some one wayirrational hatred because that's what they want people to believe. But it's a double-edge sword and I've found out that people have their reasons. Usually it's because statistically they have had several pain in the ass experiences with people of somerace therefore they don't give the benefit of the doubt and want nothing to do with them anymore.
I just expect people tobe fair. Just live and let live. Do you know why most people hate being accussed of racism? Because it's irrelevant, it's petty. They are suggestioning someone isn't treating them fair because of their race. Which is rarely true.

sadly racism cant last forever, each generation were bonding more with different races, interracial couples asians with white and blacks with different races and so on.
It'll take longer than 15 years though. Much longer.Racism will exist for a long time. It's not an "American" issue or a "white/European" issue; it's a human issue.;)
You must be incredibly naive to think that racism will disappear in 10-15 years. I'm not sure if it will ever disappear, but if it does, I guarantee you it will take many, many decades, if not centuries.

Strong words. Words of wisdom. Listen to this man.
Ever heard the saying: "History often repeats itself"?
Well, it does.
If racism were to ever disappear, it would just come right back, and racist-superiority complexes would return.
The best option would be to "Put racism to 1%".
If everyone accepted their differences, and quit pretending that they don't exist or try to forget them, the world would forever be at peace.
OH Jeez, Obama's been president since...2008...you just...realized that? Hate to say it, but there's no such thing as a non-racist utopia; face it, humans hate the different despite lying to themselves they don't.We come a long way in our world, From hundreds of years of oppresion against blacks, to a black president. There will probably always be discrimination against weak individuals or sectors in society as long as Capitalist economies and oppressive policies promoted by governments still exist.

That may be true, but it will take longer than 10-15 years for us to finally be indistinguishable in race.
