If someone left "1984," "Fahrenheit 451," "Brave New World," "Gattaca" and the Sylvester Stallone potboilers "Judge Dredd" and "Demolition Man" out in the sun and threw the runny glop onto a movie screen, it would still be a better picture than Equilibrium, a movie that could be stupider only if it were longer. TheNewYorkTimes:lol:
Doesnt that movie have like a 20 score on Metacritic?
Its brainless action... snore...

Been a while since I saw this, remember liking the concept and some of the action, but the visuals, acting and writing were terrible.

It's been a while and although it's a fairly shallow and somewhat silly film, it's an awful lot of fun and further emphasizes just how bad Christopher Nolan is at utilizing Christian Bale's solid action chops.
its been a while, but I thought it was idiotic as far as action flicks are concerned. The whole "gun fu" aspect (guns used in melee) completely ruined it for me tbh.
If you want a good Christian Bale movie that preceeds Batman, go watch Empire of the Sun. He is like 12 years old in it or something, but it really showcases his skills as an actor.
i actually very much liked it, however the gun fu and some other stuff brought it down abit for me

Ive never seen such a corny movie take itself too seriously. I bet the director hides under the cover of "social commentary" to hide his lack of talent :P
*nevermind, Kurt Wimmer (director/writer of Equilibrium) had his hand in Law Abiding Citizen and The Thomas Crown Affair...guess he is ok
The movies got a 7.7 on imdb and a 33 on meta. Im guessing the general public liked it and critcs thought it was a piece of something. Nway I havent seen it but my favourite bale movie is Dark Knight and i doubt this will top it (when I get around to seeing it).
