So my question is if I'm using internet explorer as my browser is there a way for my parents to find out what websites I've been through even if I go through yahoo?bird-man
Yes. You are going to the fiery depths of hell heathen.
[QUOTE="bird-man"][QUOTE="Dracargen"]Oh, yes.The_Ish
what can they use to track my history/
Many things.
Just delete your cookies. Firefox has an easy Ctrl-Shift-Del function that allows you to delete everything.
That's very subtle. Sure, they wouldn't know what he has been looking at, only that it's something that he shouldn't look at.Make sure you have a virus scan and pop blocker/scanner.
'Cause where you're going you are going to get a lot of both........
I chuckle when I think of you sitting there freaking out while a dialer installs itself.

If he has parents that snoop and check the internet history a lot, then when they see the history is "empty", they will be just as suspicious that the history is empty because they saw their son earlier on the internet...that is if he has smart parents, they will know something is up.

"But Mom, Dad, deleting your history makes the PC run sooo much better."

I am making the assumption his parents are stupid, like mine.
Seriously, assuming it's prawn your looking at, you don't need it, eventually you get to a point in your life that you realise that that outlook is unsatisfying and meaningless and you won't care about it anymore.rb2610
This is true. Takes quite a while but is true.

Why else would you go to the internet?
Anyway, If OP wants to avoid clearing the his history every time he is done, he should try a google image search for whatever site he is looking for (site:%s etc.). Most people don't bother looking past the images.google bit at the front of the URL.
go in internet options and remove history,
an easy solution is to install a second browser under your personal folders then use that, then you can add these websites to favourites and you shouldn't need to wipe the history every time

How old are you?

Actually, yes: your computer maintains a trace of the pages you've visited even after you delete your chronology.
Plus: your ISP keeps a log of all your web browsing, which may be made public in some particular cases.
You'd better watch what you do.

Dialers are still around? Most computers these days don't even have modems.
What kind of website is this? Is it a political site or business site? Something illegal? I don't know what it is that you're so afraid of.CruxisXIII
