Most older adults are too old to know anything about computers. My parents are both 52 and find even the tiniest things about the internet confusing sometimes, so yeah, I wouldn't worry about them knowing enough to get into computer history or anything.

The options bar...I suppose. If you don't know, your parents may not know as well.

In my humble opinion, you deserve whatever is going to happen...

Many things.

Just delete your cookies. Firefox has an easy Ctrl-Shift-Del function that allows you to delete everything.

That's very subtle. Sure, they wouldn't know what he has been looking at, only that it's something that he shouldn't look at.

Make sure you have a virus scan and pop blocker/scanner.

'Cause where you're going you are going to get a lot of both........

I chuckle when I think of you sitting there freaking out while a dialer installs itself.

Very true. If he has parents that snoop and check the internet history a lot, then when they see the history is "empty", they will be just as suspicious that the history is empty because they saw their son earlier on the internet...that is if he has smart parents, they will know something is up.

I go to those websites through the yahoo search engine which actually helps you find certain things (that's why it's better than google). So can that be traced?

Seriously, assuming it's prawn your looking at, you don't need it, eventually you get to a point in your life that you realise that that outlook is unsatisfying and meaningless and you won't care about it anymore.

Why else would you go to the internet?

Anyway, If OP wants to avoid clearing the his history every time he is done, he should try a google image search for whatever site he is looking for (site:%s etc.). Most people don't bother looking past the images.google bit at the front of the URL.

go in internet options and remove history,

an easy solution is to install a second browser under your personal folders then use that, then you can add these websites to favourites and you shouldn't need to wipe the history every time

Dude every webpage that you open on the internet gets stored in your history for three weeks (default, that is) and deleting your history would look very suspicious. Plus, who knows, you could have a keyboard logger on and they could wake up at 2 AM every night and go through everything, unlikely, but that's just an example.

If your parents were like my mother(who took classes upon classes on computers) I would think that you should be worried.

But if their normal old parents. Dont sweat.

Well, if you really are that desperate to persist with these sites you could always format your hard drive after every time you go on :P

Actually, could you not use a system restore point? But I don't think it was designed to be used that regularly.

Actually, yes: your computer maintains a trace of the pages you've visited even after you delete your chronology.

Plus: your ISP keeps a log of all your web browsing, which may be made public in some particular cases.

You'd better watch what you do.

Use a second browser (hidden of course), or u can delete all your cookies and history etc. If they ever ask why the history is empty, say u entered personal details into a site and u wanted to keep ur computer secure, or it speeds up the computer. Works a lot

You can clear your history. Or you can only delete the history of the websites you are trying to hide. That way its not completely empty but the sites you are hiding are not there.
