I lost my cell phone in a taxi cab last night. Ive been calling it non-stop. Some little 5 year old kid picked up not to long ago, but now their ignoring my calls. I have a protection plan on it.

But i need to know. Would it be better for me to tell the T-Mobile rep that i lost it, or that its been stolen?? I really need to get this phone replaced. But sometimes just the way you say something about these situations depends whether or not u get your phone replaced. Please, advice OT?!?!?

Unless you had insurance on it....they'll charge you something anyway.

Go to the local police and tell them what happened. They should give you a sort of reference number to give to T Mobile. Thats what I had to do when I left mine in a taxi.

I would say stolen because then it wasn't your fault but then again they could say you should have had a better eye on it. But they probably won't say that because its hard to protect your stuff if someone is gonna steal it. Also it depends on the rep you get, if they are jerks theres nothing you can do.

I don't know how T-Mobile does it but at Sprint you just have to pay a small restocking fee if you lose it. T-Mobile might be different. In this case, I'd go with the stolen angle.

If you have insurance they should just replace it for you, wether its lost or stolen. Plus, I would cut phone services for the lost phone immdiately.

tell them that you lost it and you believe that someone has it but won't answer the phone. they should do something about it, I don't see why not.

Thats what I had to do with Vodafone. They needed the police number so they knew it had been reported stolen and I wasnt just trying to blag a new phone off them.

Well, it would be fraud if you told them it was stolen...

If someone has picked it up from the taxi and wont answer then they have stole it.
