I need advice (This is a very interesting girl thread, not just a pointless one)

Okay, so my school has Homecoming coming up, and all the guys are asking girls to it. My friends asked me who I was going to ask, and I didn't say. The girl I want to ask is foreign and new to my school (and America) , so she doesn't know anyone very well. And since her and I aren't great friends, I would start talking to her and get to know her better, and eventaully ask her to Homecoming. The problem is that people would assume that I am desperate and am taking advantage of her just so that i'll have someone to take to Homecoming. (which is not the case!)

What should I do?

also, the only reason you would look desperate is if you are infact desperate, have confidence and just ask her out, most people arent looking for huge reliationships in homecoming, its just a hangout night for girls with random guys they just met that they'll prolly never see again.

Well you have two options:

1. Ask her out. Get a date for the dance. Some people might think you're desperate.
2. Don't ask her out. Not get a date. Then you'll have to take your mom to the dance and everybody will think your desperate.

But seriously if you like her, and you get to know her and have alot in common go for it. If your friends criticize you for it then they aren't really your friends now are they..

DO it already. If you're self-conscious, taking a tidy girl to the dance is gonna be a huge boost, and it never matters what others think, dude - people who are gonna make a call about itare doing it to soothe their own insecurities.
