So I didn't go to school today, and I really need an excuse for my family. I was thinking along the lines of, we had a day off, but how would I know if I hadn't said anytihng about a day off till today. So what could I say?

Actually, he is right.

You should consider just being honest with your parents. Just tell them straight up you didn't want to go to school. The punishment could be less severe.

There is your answer. tell them that they need to do your damn laundry soon or you can't go to school. what are you gonna do...go naked. of course not. see it's your parents fault. if they give you any lip just tell them it's cool everyone is doing it (ditching school that is)
