I have always thought that it would be perfectly legal. If someone is threatening your life then shoot that guy down right in his spot.

So you killed someone? And to answer your question I really don't know. It could be considered self defense but even then you could probably get charged for manslaughter. Again, I really don't know.

Not always, it depends what the person is doing. If the person shot you first as long as it is not in the back, I believe it is legal.

So what if they did not shoot you but were just about to? Is it still legal if you shot them right before they shot you?

You'd def get arrested and questioned. If it's ruled that it isn't self defense or that your actions were too extreme in relation to the circumstances than it's very illegal and your going to jail for a long time.

Based on circumstances, courts can rule either way. if the person had reason to believe a person was going to hurt them, and it's very clear it was out of self defense, then you're OK. If you just start shooting blindly, you might be in trouble. It's all circumstantial, really. Nobody can say for sure.

This. Although some unfortunate individuals can have a case against themselves for protecting themselves.

Threatening does not always require a gun. I am sure if they have a gun pointed in your face you would be okay.

completely legal as long as the threat was still present, if the threat was gone, but then you went back for revenge, that's illegal. out of curiosity, what on earth happened, and why are you asking OT about it, rather than a lawyer?

It's self defense and it's legal, but you'll still want to lawyer up.

all i heard was he got pissed about something, shot her in the leg so she shot him in the arm and he died of blood loss before the ambulance arrived and as far as asking OT instead of a lawyer, idk, i guess i don't know any lawyers.

Wise choice in choosing this forum for your query, TC.

To answer your question, it is completely legal to kill someone with a bullet if that person shot you first. Just don't try killing that person with a bullet shot from a gun.

The best choice for you would be to either hand-throw a bullet (preferably a .45 caliber) at the person in question...you'll have to throw it really hard. Or, if you have a weak throwing arm, instead opt to strategically place a bullet in your assailant's favorite beverage.

law might very in your state, for instance if someone pulled a gun on you, and say they even stole your wallet, but say when they're running off and no longer pose a threat to your life shooting them then might be illegal at that point, that's when shooting someone who has you at gunpoint who wants you to hand over your wallet may be justifiable since you're refusal to give your belongings over puts your life at risk, so... then again I read how people get screwed and let off for various things, it's not quite a double standard as just utterly arbitrary, for instance a woman shot a man dead locally for spitting on her and she walked free, another person went to prison years ago because even though the person was initially a threat to the shooters life, the shooter put too many bullets into them
