I question Batman's code of ethics

First off, why won't he kill someone? Imagine how better off Gotham would be if Batman killed some of his enemies. Secondly, why won't he use guns? It would be so much easier for Batman to take down criminals by shooting them, rather than throwing a bat-shaped boomerang. Thirdly, what is up with the get up? Does he really think that criminals will take him seriously by dressing up as a bat? I'd be more scared of the Man-Bat, an actual gigantic bat fused with a human, than just the poser that Batman is.

So, what are your thoughts? Do you think Batman would be better off if he killed, shot, and had a wardrobe change?

The suit is actually scary, try to imagine it in real life. Its pitch black and you come face to face with a 6'3' 250lb bat.

Batman doesn't believe in the greater good, nor does he legitimately desire to do what is best for Gotham. He needs to be needed.

His parents were shot and killed right in front of him. I think that's a big reason why he won't resort to either of those things you mentioned.

if you knew anything at all about batman you'd know he doesn't kill people b/c thats a personal code. his parents were shot and killed in front of him by muggers when he was a kid. he swore to protect gotham without becoming what he's trying to stop

All super heroes are the same. They're a disappointment. Thats why I always want the baddies to win. I leave the film with about 30 minutes to go and the baddie still alive and pretend he won and destroyed the world.Big_Bad_Sad

Thank God you are not a judge. most of the criminals are dealers and robbers. and even the murderers (except for the joker) dont deserve death. life sentence is what they should get. or maybe like 30 years. but you can't kill everyone who does something bad.

I disagree. I believe they're supposed to be manly bat-nipples, which are highly intimidating in any situation.

Thank God you are not a judge. most of the criminals are dealers and robbers. and even the murderers (except for the joker) dont deserve death. life sentence is what they should get. or maybe like 30 years. but you can't kill everyone who does something bad.

well i suppose if i was a criminal and i ran into the Batman, i wouldn't take his suit seriously without them. but when my eyes locked with his ink black nips, i would think "oh snap, this guy means business."

Batman fights better than a ninja, he has no need for guns.

I'm glad that he doesn't just waste every two-bit criminal he comes across. But he really should kill enemies like the Joker. Deciding not to kill someone like him is deciding to let the joker kill more people.

(sure they attempt, but as we all learned in 6th grade science, "The Laws of Fail state that all fails are avoidable, unless the circumstances you are faced with involve Youtube arguments, Riding scooters after the age of 32, and facing off with Batman. In that case, it is an autofail."

While Batman won't kill people (no matter how evil or horrible they are), I think he could at least shatter some bones (like in Dark Knight) and generally screw those thugs up.

Won't be committing too many crimes when your in a wheelchair and eating food through a straw for the rest of your life.

the villans always escape from jail though and end up killing more people.

so yes I kind of question the "never kill" ethics side as well since it jsut seems to result it more deaths.

I think batman is a well written story but I find his "must not kill" principles kind of unrealistic and annoying
