I don't want to spend more than a $350, I would like to buy a Fender, ESP, Ibanez or something just as good.

I'm starting a band with my friends and I'm going to be lead guitarist so can anyone tell me which one of the above has the cheapest but good looking ones? (long necks, nice color and shape)

I appreciate your help guys.

I live in Los Angeles if that helps.

Try to get an LTD which is made by ESP, but it's a cheaper alternative.

i say go with a fender; you really can't go wrong. you can probably get a standard strat for $350. you need a good amp though too because a good guitar with a crappy amp does not sound good.

Yea that's why I'm not leaning too much for those. Thanks though.

Some purists here may disagree, but I'd suggest a Agile guitar. I got one of the more expensive LP styled ones a few months ago and it sounds amazing for paying only $400. Fender is a good brand, my first guitar was a Mex Strat and I don't regret buying that thing one bit, has held up perfect to this day.

Jackson makes very good necks + fretboards. Ibanez make the best Bridges. And Gibsons have the best overall (out of your price range though :P)

I suggest trying out guitars yourself, since not one brand is consistent with their quality. I've played $400 fenders that play better than their $1000+ counterpart, So the best advice is to try the guitars within your price range that are aurally and visually appealing to you.

Buy an Epiphone, they are professional quality guitars sold at very affordable prices. And yes before i get slaughtered for saying that, they are highly upgradable, so if you do start gigging, then a few swaps can get it up to a Gibson Fender and Gibson are the two most popular brands, and their guitars start off at £1000, Fender a little less.

Their most notable models are the Fender Strat, Fender Tele, Gibson Les Paul and Gibson SG. Fender has a company called Squier that make cheapy versions of their guitars, and they suck, like real bad, but they are cheap and perfect for beginners. Gibson has Epiphone, and they are more pricey than Squiers yet their quality is amongst the high-end, so good that plenty of guitarists out there prefer them over the Gibsons. So yeah, if you are a beginner, then Epiphone, if you are experienced, then still Epiphone. Also get the Epiphone Les Paul Studio, basically the Studio versions have some of the cosmetics stripped out, they look better IMHO, but they knock a bit off the price too

Yeah who needs sound quality anyway? I mean it's not like the point is to make quality art and express yourself. As long as you have the coolest looking guitar out there you're good to go. Hell just make a badass looking one out of cardboard and play music in the background and you can save yourself hundreds.

Epiphone, Yamaha, Ibanez, LTD, Fender Go and try out a bunch and see what you like. Everyone has different tastes. Me? I like more PRS, Gibson, Hagstrom and the like. Some like Fender's, Musicman, Ibanez, and so on and so forth. You may hate both and like Parker (though you can't afford this for $350). Plus you need an amp. If I were putting together a rig for $350? Amp: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Line-6-Spider-III-15-Guitar-Combo-Amplifier?sku=482276 Guitars: http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Yamaha-PAC012-Electric-Guitar?sku=511076 or http://guitars.musiciansfriend.com/product/Epiphone-Limited-Edition-Special-II-with-Zebra-Pickups?sku=518097
