@Master_Live: I know right! its a pipe dream though! I don't even know at this point how I would aquire one, and I would want to get a baby one or young one so it doesn't become used to the wild

Let the wild things stay wild. If you want something "like" a cat - buy the danged cat!

Doesn't matter HOW cute they are. They are WILD and should be allowed to live their lives sans people.

@Detroit222: free world and foxes look amazing, if domesticated whats to bother? if there not, they are safer in a house and well fed and loved, foxes get the crap end of the stick in the wild it seems

I have a 350lb sasquatch for a roomie that you can have. He's mostly domesticated, though he does miss the toilet at night.

That sounds like a cool pet, unless they're anything like a chiuahua, personality wise. Knew a guy in Utah who owned a Pointer, a raccoon, and trained a falcon. He was pretty much the ultimate mountain man. Never saw it happen, but I always liked to imagine he'd go hunting and all three would help him catch an elk or deer.

As other people have said its possible to acquire them but I'm guessing they would be expensive like the one from Russia mentioned earlier. If you end up getting one you should make a thread here and post some photos of it.

I love foxes. I'd take one if I could. Or a wolf. I'd like a wolf, too.

their shriek that sounds like a cat being strangled is positively bloodcurdling.

a bobcat would be a cool pet, but the novelty would probably wear off pretty quickly as it destroys your home.

dogs are superior than foxes .... and it's natural for them to protect their territory.

My home area are infested with fox, snakes, monitor lizard, otter and many more wierd creature ... as long as my dogs dont spot them ..... these animals are safe ... lol

btw my dogs are of corgies (cardigan @bad temper than pembroke corgi), terrier and a shiba inu ....... a deadly combination

They're pretty neat, though I would prefer to have a pet wolf.

I watched some videos and they seem cool but I would still be a bit worried about them being dangerous. Another question is, can you legally take one walking on a leash? And if you could I think some people might freak out if they see you walking a fox. Some other dogs being walked might be more hostile towards a pet fox if they have had encounters with wild foxes. Just some thoughts.

A fox does sound dope. A new born fox may be domesticated unless they are programmed savages

Foxes aren't fully domesticated yet, so there's a decent chance it could be a real pain to deal with.

If you want one just for the novelty of having a fox, you'd be much better off with a dog.

Lol.

You don't understand domestication do you?

How do you think we have dogs and cats for pets?

Fennec foxes are common pets, and don't grow that large.
