I will never understand texting

You basically spend one minute typing something you can say in 5 seconds. Why the hell do people do it, I mean why cant they just call. And of coure every teen has a cell phone with microscopic keyboard on it. I guess its the "new" way of passing notes in class.

When I'm at work I prefer to text, esp. if it is personal.

people who text me are intrusive. I will not reply. If they text me a 2nd time, I will block their phone number.

Texting is often cheaper in the short term.. Most companies give free texts when you top up 'x' amount. I am with you thoe for the people who have long drawn out conversations over text. Even more annoying when they are doing so whilst your in the middle of talking to them..

Well if people like it, I guess it's alright for them. It's extremely unhealthy with all of this modern constant communication. I think it's stupid.

I know people who can text faster than they can type...

While in a logical sense it's pretty useless, it's really fun. I text all the time.:P

Yeah, plus it's cheaper! I'm always texting, and phone calls get way too boring to keep doing it!

One thing I hate is when you're in a group and they have, like, forty ways of contacting you, but they text you. Even if you say "Don't text me, I don't have the money for it."

I find it perfect for short exchanges, but I hate it when somebody tries to have long, drawn-out conversations with me. The constant text notification sounds really bug me when I'm trying to get something done.

I prefer texting over calling easily.

1) I can talk to multiple people

2) if I dont want to respond to them I dont have to

3) its a lot easier

The only time texting annoys me is when I see people doing it in class or while driving.

I think texting is less intrusive than calling anyway.

Texting is convenient because its like leaving a note, if you call, someone might be too busy to have a conversation, but with texting they can just read it, and then get back to whatever they were doing.

It is when people start having conversations through texting, that I don't understand.
