You're genres were too hard to think of examples for :P

Parandrus

I know. :P I'm just looking for some more (extreme) progressive metal bands with some quality behind them like Ikuinen Kaamos. It's really tough to find bands like that though, so it's understandable.

Doom:vs, Trist, Gris, LostLife, Austere, Ancestral, Cold World, Indricothere, Gordian Knot, Bardo, etc.

Yandere

Have not heard of Cold World (I love Indricothere and Gordian Knot though). I'll check them out too.

I'm listening to "Closure" by IK right now, and it's really good. I generally don't like progressive metal, but this is very impressive.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"][QUOTE="LZ71"]Sort of broad request, but what are some good alternative bands? Really any type will do just fine. LZ71
The Cure, Placebo, Smashing Pumpkins, stellastarr, Bloc Party, Psychedelic Furs, Depeche Mode......

The only one I've heard out of those from my own experience is Bloc Party, and I didn't like them too much, though it's been a while. Anyways, thanks for the recommendations, I'll look into them right away.

what you dont like bloc party? Tsk tsk, you probably listened to "A weekend in the city" anyways im looking for some alternative popy rock. with synths/keyboard, and female lead singers wouldn't hurt either.ill probably know most of the suggestions.somewhat like Panic at the disco.

Check out Twilight of the Thunder God and Versus the World for Amon Amarth, both are fantastic albums (With Oden On Our Side is also great). For Ensiferum, I recommend their self-titled album.

I think you will probably be into Billy Talent and Project 86.

Film-Guy

Is Project 86 Christian? For some reason I think I remember them being Christian. And whenever I see Billy Talent I always think of Billy Idol. Haha :P

I take it that means you have? :P

Darth-Caedus

No, I have not and I congratulate you for giving me viking metal. Quite the stuff really. :P
You also inspired me to make Last.fm account, I will eventually add you. 8)

I would like to add Dark Tranquility, Be'Lakor. Wintersun, and Pandemonium to his rec's :P (And Pandemonium have their full discography available for free download at their site:D (Rest of their stuff is under the media section.) Add me on last.fm as well:P (Click the image in my sig)

Ah, yes, those first three are all great (in terms of albums, I personally recommend Haven, Stone's Reach, and Wintersun, respectively).
