Ween are a very weird band, they are good muscians but their songs are usually very goofy. I know Nada Surf, dont know screeching weasel though. You might like the Squirrel Nut Zippers, and they might be giants.

I have a friend who is really into that kind of metal, he tells me about these bands and tries to convince me to love them as much as he does:P
