Hip-Hop. Some acts I like are Dysfunkshunal Familee, Godfather Don, and Jemini the Gifted One....

Yandere

I don't know much about Hip-Hip right now, but 7L & Esoteric is pretty good.

Not that big of a fan of 7L and Esoteric outside of 7L's production. They're not really anything like the artists I mentioned though. The song you posted, Watch Me, is prolly my fave song by them by the way...

And if anyone can give me some funk or soul like Eugene McDaniels, RAMP, Raw Soul Express, Weldon Irvine, Black Heat, Mandrill, Cymande, or Shuggie Otis I'd appreciate it.

could anyone give me bands that are similar to Between The Buried and Me. Also could anyone mention some avant-guarde or prog metal bands that incorporate Jazz music.

mouse380

I know exactly what you need. Check out the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Their guitarist John Mclaughlin is one of the best ever.

Weather Report is also worth checking out. So are Brand X, and Return to forever. Also check out King Crimson, Magma, and Blue Effect.

Fort Knox Five sounds like a backing track to an M.I.A. song... way too contemporary and too electronic.

this is what some of the people I listed sound like:

Shuggie Otis

Raw Soul Express

RAMP

Cymande

I think they're the same usual group of hip-hop artists you always list in these threads lol :P. They're okay but they're just your run of the mill standard Def Jux and/or Rhymesayers rappers/producers. I was looking more so for obscure mid 90's underground boom bap hip-hop acts... El-P's work on Company Flow's album Funcrusher Plus kinda falls into that category but everything else not really.

Dysfunkshunal Familee- Easy Come Easy Go

Jemini the Gifted One- Funk Soul Sensation (Godfather Don Remix)

Godfather Don- 8 Million Stories

Not really. Mid 90's narrows it down to acts roughly from 1992-1997. Underground takes any mainstream out of the equation. Obscure takes the more known underground acts like DITC. Jeru the Damaja, or Boot Camp Clik out of the equation. And boom bap pretty much narrows it down to acts with the hard hitting NYC "boom boom bap" kick drum/snare sound.

Ah, well I don't know, for some reason I was only a fan of MJ when he was in Jackson 5. Brian I already kinda listen to.. I heard of the alt bands, but never listened to them... I'm into Blink-182 already, I don't remember hearing a Paramore song, maybe I have and just forgot. Yeah and I was thinking the other day that there's no such thing as a better taste in genre, just a better taste in bands. What I mean is that there are gems in every genre (at least I think so :P) and the guys with good taste in bands will like the best bands of the genres they like most. Hopefully that makes sense. :P

To some extent, yes. I like both Billy Joel and Elton John, both of whom employ the piano extensively. I don't listen to much of that kind of music, though (beyond Joel/John, really none).

All her songs sound EXACTLY the same to me. Ugh and those are the worst. Especially when male vocalists compare their girlfriends to tractors! UGH! :x

Iam looking for music thats similar to

The Dissociatives,Silverchair (Diorama,Y Modern era) Ladytron

I cant find any badns that are on there level of epicness

Norg

I wish I could help you but when I think of Silverchair all I can think of is "the guys that look like Nirvana" and so I mostly remember their older stuff which is quite grungy.

Aparently these bands are similar to Ladytron: Client, Robots in Disguise, Chicks on Speed, Fischerspoone

Well, seeing as I only know Teardrops on my Guitar... can't really say anything about her other songs. :P Oh, yes... I mean... I should be offended when listening to that! :x:P I really absolutely LOVE Martina McBride, no matter what anyone on this site or in the world says.

Didnt Silverchair make their first album when they were 16 or something?

If you like her you should check out Beth Orton, Laura Marling, Tiny Vipers, and Those Darlins.

The ones I like are Attack Attack!, Bless The Fall, Chasing Victory, Cry for the Afflicted, Dead Poetic, Killswitch Engaged (already knew this band), The Used. :D Thanks

The fact you liked the first just made my day! :D Good luck on your quest for more quality electrocore though. :P

Here's some other good bands: The Devil Wears Prada (The song "still fly" is good) Abondon All Ships - Pedestrian is Another Word for Speed Bump (listen to this) :D Song is amazing in the beginning but it kinda sucks in the middle to the end :(
