Favorite bands for me are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Tool, A Perfect Circle, The Cure, Lamb of God, Slipknot, Disturbed, Children of Bodom and Nine Inch Nails...Do your worst!

Darth-Caedus
Iced Earth, Angra, Warbringer, Evile, Kreator, Amon Amarth, Ensiferum, Wintersun, Bolt Thrower, and Týr.

Thanks guys, I've heard of about 20% of these bands, but I will definitely listen to the others. I particularily like Amon Amarth, but I knew of them long before.

Okay then Film Guy...

I'm looking for some more symphonic metal and power metal. The metal bands I like are Dream Theater, Kamelot, Epica (not the screamy stuff), Nightwish, Blind Guardian, Falconer and Angra.

Lacuna Coil, Sonata Arctica and Rhapsody of Fire are already on my suggestions list.

And before you recommend me anything, remember that I absolutely loathe death grunts/harsh vocals/screaming/whatever the bloody hell you want to call it. Even if it's just a few screams or just a couple of lines of harsh vocals, I can't stand it.

I wouldn't mind either some new jazz-fusion or some new prog rock. For jazz-fushion I've only really heard Mahavishnu Orchestra. Prog rock; I listen to and like Pink Floyd, King Crimson, The Alan Parson's Project, Yes, Genesis, Camel, Rush and Supertramp. I've heard of and keep meaning to listen to Emerson, Lake, Palmer; Jethro Tull and Tool. Fire away :)

Even if I was why would you care? You are still getting music suggestions either way. Im not by the way, the only thing I do sometimes is use amazon or last.fm. That is only when i cant think of anything I know of that is similar to a person's tastes. I've only done that a few times so far though.
