Paradox, nothing can be infinite.
Space phenomons have baffeled many scientists.. Black holes them selves are considered infinite in the sense they are forcing everyting intoa singularity..
I would like to know if theres another place that livable on....Magical_Donuts
I can pretty safely say that there is most likely uncountable amounts of livable enviroments with the vast amounts of planets in the universe..
Yeah, I've looked up at night sometimes and wondered. It makes your problems seem so insignificant.SolidSnake35
second
The universe is infinite in size, as more of it is consantly being created by stuff blowing up and spreading further apart.
Larger than most humans can comprehend. The limit (not exactly "edge") of the universe has also not been discovered yet.foxhound_fox
Well we wouldn't able to see the edge even if we were looking right at it.. Its black.. It would just look like more space..

Why do you say that? The human brain might not be capable of understanding the universe as infinite, but that does not mean that it is not so.

We have an example of what is inifinite in the universe, and that is black hole.. Its singularity defies all physics at this time and is the best example.
I heard that there are alternate dimensions that exist within the universe, so there could be much more vastness that has never been explained before.
Its like saying you could jump in a black hole, survive, and find yourself in a whole nother' half of the universe that few even know exist. And then find alternate versions of this very Earth. Who knows?
And about the theory that the Universe is infinite, I doubt its size is infinite, but its just unthinkably huge. No number could record its exact area or width, mostly cause it constantly expands, and has been doing so since billions upon billions upon billions of years ago.
So...... I don't know how big the universe is. No one really does. But it doesn't hurt to give the question a shot:D.

Mm unfortantly this wouldn't be possible for the Black Hole.. If it was a smaller black hole say a stellar black hole (20 to 30 times the mass of our sun).. You would die before you could reach the event horizon.. The tidal forces would speghettify you.
The only way you could even make it into the event horizon with out dieing is by going into a super massive black hole (the black holes present in nearly every galaxy that is millions of times the mass of the sun.. M182 galaxy has a super massive black hole that is over 3 billion times the mass of our sun.. Just put in the perspective, our sun is pretty small, one million earths can fit in it.) Fortunately there is no tidal forces in a black hole that immense and youw ould be sucked into the vent horizon and most likely live.. But then you will die.. Because the matter its feeding on in that area is getting compressed immensely to the point that its getting super heated.. You would be incinerated.
[QUOTE="xtn702"][QUOTE="TheZ3nMan"]No, the universe is infinite.mohan88agreed I disagree I disagree, the universe is finite but is believed to be continuously growing. There are currently 11 dimensions based on the string theory and supergravity theory. The m theory believes the universe was created by... i dont even get it.. it so screwed up it seems surreal, but thats where physics is currently at.
We currently believe time existed before the universe and there is a possibility that there is a infinite ammount of paralell universes with slightly different alterations in betweens.
