Just because they're identical doesn't mean they had to live their lives similarly.how do people find this odd?
people with identical genetic codes who lead similar lives have their body last the same amount of time.

I thought of this when I read this, It is a little eerie though..

Genetically (assuming one didn't binge on eating fast foods or drinking heavily) they will both have a very similar span of life.
I don't know what's creepy or eerie about that; they had the same genetic code and lived the same lives, so it makes sense that they'd have about the same life span. I think it's kind of nice, really, that one didn't have to spend much time without the other if they'd lived 92 years together. Seems like as appropriate an end as any.

Hmm. I've always wondered if identical twins really matched 100% on DNA. There's got to be a few strands that have differences, as the chain is incredibly long, iirc.

As I understand it, barring mutations during early development, yeah, they do. The way in which identical twins form is having one fertilized egg split into two, and then each grows into a separate human being. Identical twins are not always completely identical in appearance, since one's genetics are not the only deciding factor for what traits are expressed in a person, but they're genetically the same.

Then you really step into the Twilight Zone and wonder if both twins have identical thought chains. Or is ESP is high in identical twins.
MSN has the same story and on its site somebody commented saying that he knew these two brothers. He went to St. Bonaventure University where these two guys worked.
Also I found this interesting:
"After attending St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute, the brothers were turned away by the military because of their eyesight, the university said. One had a bad left eye, the other a bad right eye."
If I'm correct identical twins are from the same embryo which splits in two. Perhaps the split occured near the spot where the cells that would eventually develop into the left eye of one bro and the right eye of the other.
[QUOTE="z4twenny"]Just because they're identical doesn't mean they had to live their lives similarly. yeah but they lived in the same friary for most of their adult lives and would have followed the same routines, and probably ate the same food.how do people find this odd?
