i was prank calling the teacher, the teacher found out on somebody elses phone that it was my number, grabbed my arm and took it
no lie
I highly doubt it. Unlike your locker or bookbag...you can't hide drugs or weapons in your message inbox or contact list. That has to be an invasion of privacy.-Twilight-they can look through your bookbag?

Don't think they are aloud to look through it.Converwrong, if you give it to them, its your mistake
you actually give your phone in? ****iamthetacoyup, dont give it to them, its your property. if they continue to persist or send you to the office. call a lawyer. Or use your cell phone to call a lawyer and let your teacher/principal know it.

If its on school grounds they have access to it.
They aren't allowed to? In the student manual crap that the school gave out, it said that teachers will hold the cellphone for 1 week if found. I suppose it is right there.

[QUOTE="Pok3master"]alright so if a teacher took my phone away while it was on, and saw that i did call, and that the name i had them in my contact list was something offensive, could i get into trouble?MattUD1What was/is on the phone? A hitlist? drug suppliers?
no, but the name i had for the teacher in my contact list could be considered offensive...
also the teacher walked around and showed it to every student in the room

Schools have almost as much power over you as your parents. They have every right to look through your cellphone. Delete your text messages.fourier404I don't know what gave yout that idea, but it's not true unless consent is given by law....which without a warrant or parents' "okay," is the case. Unless it's a private school or something.
public schools don't need warrants to search a students property including his cell phone, although a teacher or faculty member could get in trouble by the school district for things like invading a students privacy. i don't doubt that an assistant principal could get in trouble for doing something like that just not legally.
although i do know of certain parts of the country where school districts are so afraid of law suits, that they will appease students who complain just to get out ofwasting money on a law suit where ultimatelythe schoolis in the right.
