Ok... Lets go through all the reasons why 20millionish Australians could not hold off the American army (lets say the same force who invaded Iraq) Lets assume most of those people have little or no training Americans have tanks, arty, air support, logistics etc Morale would be bad among the Australian civillians-like in Iraq in the few days before the insurgency Many Australians would not fight the Americans (both native Americans, and US-supporting civillians) Australians would run out of ammo quick (im Aussie btw)

FACT: American Army is the strongest army in the world

Way to beat them: British/Japan/China/Canada/France would have to become allies

Lets just put it this way....if USA decided to go on a rampage to take over the world like germany did it would be world war 2 all over again....just USA being Germany and the rest of the countries trying to win the war and save the world from absoulute controle....stopping the american nukes is possible so dont even argue that

In today's media driven society the operational capacity of any army is dependant on the public's ability to accept that there will be casualties.

Look at the Britain/Iran hostage episode to see what happens when the public back home don't understand that a soldiers job is to kill or be killed.

There's no way the UK would be able to take on the US, we simply don't have the armed forces for that. Budget cuts over the past who knows how many years has reduced our armed forces to nothing but a skeleton of what it was.

The United States fields the second largest and the most powerful army in the world. The UK fields the second most powerful Army in the world, with it deemed only second to the United States. (The UK also fields the best Tank in the world and one of the best fighters in the world). But I think the US would be able to take Australia easy enough. (No, im not an American, im an englishman.)

You do know why USA would never try to attack a allied country right??? Because if they did the country they attack would have allies who have allies who have allies who have allies and the usa would lose. However there will never be anything like that until oil runs out and USA tries to get oil from some other country like Canada Hell canada has enough oil to last 100+ years if they use it for there own country but what do they do?? They sell it to other countries.....owell thats life

To say that the existence of armed forces is the cause of wars is misguided.  You can see in any news outlet everyday how conflicts within families or between neighbours, etc, can result in injury or death.  Conflict and the competition for resources is part of the human condition and can happen on any scale, whether it be micro or global.

Ok......but i can guarentee that if the world goes on for 1 billion more years the earth will become so advanced that you wont even be able to think a bad thought. However if we end up killing ourself with war, and destruction humans will cease to exist

 America doesn't need to invade. What with all the cultural and economic assimilation, Australia's become the 51st state in everything but name. And if the U.S.A. decided we were a liability, we wouldn't stand a chance even with the whole adult population armed to the teeth. Any two-bit nation with a mind to do so could steamroll Australia in a matter of weeks...
