If GameSpot gets shut down, where would the GS community go?

I'm not as active on any online forums but I have to say GameSpot is where I'm active the most. With recent gaming sites like GameTrailers and Joystiq awhile back, the community disappears with them. Now if GameSpot shuts down, where would the GS community go? Since I'm not really active anywhere else, I'm too sure what's the next best thing.

Nowhere. I will be done with gaming forums.

It would be riot in the streets if that happens.

Honestly I don't know. Gamespot is literally the only forum I've ever joined. Maybe I will go join some constructive, helpful sites if this place ever closes.

I really don't spend much time talking about gaming on the GS forums. I probably just won't post anywhere. I posted on Sherdog.com (MMA) a long time ago and really hate that place. otherwise, this is the only forum on which I've been an active participant.

I don't know, I haven't really thought about it.

The only gaming forum I've been on, aside from a few comments on a couple of other sites. If Gamespot dies, my forum use will as well.

I burned many social media bridges such as instagram, tumblr, twitter. All I have left to spew nonsense is gamespot and I'm too comfortable to go look for a new site.

The daily happening if that's still a thing. I wonder if anyone old school is even on there anymore.

Perhaps I would go here. I don't know though, I rather like this place. I hate having to look for other places to talk about topics that OT doesn't really care about.

The Rogan board. You can't see it unless you register and get access granted from an admin. But it's great. No meaningless rules, porn everywhere (almost every other post), and a real sense of community. Unlike this forum, I can post in that forum and expect a league of replies within 5 minutes. Lots of gamers and gaming enthusiasts, as well people with tons of other hobbies as well. And of course if you're lucky you get to reply to or receive a reply from the great Joe Rogan (being there for a few months, he's replied to my posts a few times).

Tellin you guys, that place is amazing. After posting there for almost a year, I'd like to call that place my new home.

I dunno, probably mwcboards. I don't currently post there, but it conveniently brings together all the news and happening around the mountain west into one site, complete with trolls and all. Figured if this site went down I might could start throwing my two cents into their pot.

Laihendi has a forum called Lais Corner which was formally Dave's Place for just that occasion

I never build these bridges in the first place ^^ I am usally present in the forum of the online game I am playing the most and if there is none I look at GS ... heard something about giant bomb maybe its worth a look some day

@omotih: the forums for any game use to be cool. Maybe I should check out the fallout 4 forum here. Never looked at giant bomb neither.

Most likely nowhere else, my forum posting will likely draw to a close. I've grown too attached to this place, not sure if I can get comfortable and really enjoy posting somewhere else, and have the same feels I have here and also TV.com. TV.com was also a good popular bustling site before 2009, but alas, that place is a deserted wasteland just like here.

Well, I might consider trying some zetaboard forums, but from the few I've joined at posted at so far, somehow for me they always ended in disaster.

Plus, this place is dead enough already, and I honestly just come here out of pure habit since I've been a member for so long.

i believe the age of forums is over now. i don't see this community form itself around another gaming forum. it's not 2006 anymore.

I am well prepared I have one account with IGN and one with Blu Ray.Com

Forums are certainly dying because there are many places that are making them irrelevant

I really don't wanna go back to IGN despite a few of my pals are asking me to come back over there and I haven't go back to IGN in almost 2 years now. I pretty much been posting a lot more on G+ community with anime, games, PC discussions and so much more. So if GS were to shutdown, I'll be on G+ posting there for good and GS is pretty much my last gaming site I'll ever post in my life but GS is a really good gaming site, I hate to see it shutdown as I made many good people here, I hate to not keep in touch besides on PSN/XBL.
