If it's racist to not want to date someone because of their race...

Is it sexist to not want to date someone because of their sex? Does this mean that all heterosexuals and homosexuals are sexist?

I think so. Now, I know that many will say that sexuality is a biological preference, but I think a good argument could be made for a biological basis of racial preferences too.

I am naturally attracted to women of all different races. I am not attracted to men of any race. No, I'm not sexist. Personal choices in regard to relationships and intimacy have nothing to do with general fair treatment of other people. You're only sexist and/or racist of you allow your personal preferences to influence the general treatment of others.

No... If you're not attracted to someone, it would be pretty dumb to force yourself to date them. If you find them attractive, but don't want to date them just because of their race, then yeah that's probably racist.

If someone doesn't date black girls because he's never seen one who is physically attractive to him, then it's not racism. If someone outright claims that he'll never date a black girl because black girls are unattractive to him, I'd argue that that is an indication of racial prejudice. He can't be sure that black girls will always be unattractive to him, so to write them off like that seems a hasty dismissal to me.

I don't think so. I had my preferences for white and Latina girls but I went on a date with a black girl who happened to be very nice. Not the stereotypical black girl everyone thinks. :P I don't think it's racist nor sexist but just a preference that we develop as we grow up. You should have your own preferences, but don't automatically limit yourself to one or two races. Believe me, sometimes the grass is greener on the other side and as an old saying goes, "love is blind." ;)

And yes it does make you racist to someextent, or at least prejudice, You dont knowthe person, but you;ve decide not date them because of thier ethnicity, Preference suggests you've tried, or atleast experienced being with someone from that race. However if you have a negative physical reaction to some because of thier skin pigmentation, then may have a problem.

I always find rather amusing how all thes inumerable race threads filled with people trying to justify thier prejudices, and then those threads are eventually locked, why? because those people that are trying to justify these prejudices start to comfortable about them and then begin to show thier true colours (no pun intended)

I know that physical is a matter of preference, some people have thier prefered 'types' tall short, skinny, thick etc, but some of you need to start being colour blind

It's not racist, but I notice threads like these seem to focus on black women. If your not into them that's your prerogative but I honestly think this thread just derailed into a thread with rationalisations of why black women aren't preferred by some guys. The fact that no other races are even mentioned admittedly rubs me the wrong way a bit.
