If Ledger died before the Dark Knight, who would you see as the perfect Joker?

Call me crazy, but I think Mark Hamill. I mean, he voices an excellent Joker in the cartoons and in Batman: Arkham Asylum. I haven't seen him acting on the big screen in a long time, though, so I have no idea how his actual acting would hold up.

Johnny Depp.

The Dark Knight got all the praise it did because of Ledger's death. It really wasn't that great of a movie, I'd rather watch Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. That was an enjoyable movie.

Anyone.. no disrespect to Heath Ledger, but i just felt that the joker was just really well scripted in that film, and it was down to that more than Ledgers performance that made it so good.

Johnny Depp, but he would be better as Penguin or Riddler.

Mark Hamill, he's got the voice down, why not let him act.

yes, i know he played the Riddler in Batman Forever, but I still think he'd make a good Joker.

He has proven his worth as a dramatic actor imo, all he would have to do is add a pinch of dark humor.

I heard rumors they're trying to get him to be the Riddler. Please... let that be true JustPlainLucas

To me, Mark Hamill is "The Joker", and will always be "The Joker". I never adapted to Heath'sdark dementia of what the Joker is.

I'd still think Ledger, his death didn't really have an effect on how I judged his character although friends said he did start to intermingle his part with real life.moose_knuckler

For some odd reason Tim Curry keep coming into my mind, mostly beacuse of him playing Pennywise in It. I also think Mark Hamil would be good too.

Call me crazy but I can see Robin Williams doing a great job with the Joker.

Robin Williams is okay. He is perfect for light-hearted comedies, but I can't seem him doing anything mildly serious at all. He is far too limited. Not that I'm a big Ledger fan either, his only amazing performance was The Dark Knight. Brokeback Mountain was terrible, IMO.enterawesome

The script hasn't even been written. No one knows, except maybe Christopher Nolan, if The Riddler will be in it.

I hope Johnny Depp won't be cast as him. I don't see him being cast as a villain, anyways.
