If someone broke into your home would you fight them?

So hypothetical situation, if you where woken up to the sound of someone breaking into your home at night would you fight and or kill them? Take you current living situation into account, i.e. living with kids, parents or whatever your situation may be. I guess ultimately it would have to be a fight to the death.

If they're in my house uninvited they will get one warning to remove themselves from the premise. If they choose not to they will not be walking out on their own. It's that simple.

I'd call the police and then try to chase them off. If someone was trying to steal my things, I would fight them with my fists and scissor kicks. I dont need a gun because my body is a lethal weapon.

if i had some sort of gun yes. but i cant because its not allow here. and i dont trust the police to do anything because they arent carrying guns

I'm guessing most people will say yes, though I doubt in reality most actually would fight back. Though it really depends on the situation and what you have to protect yourself with. Are the intruders armed? Do you have a gun you can fight back with? What is the situation here? When you make topics like this you should be more specific. Totally. I would get a gun and tell them to leave, if they wouldn't leave I'd threaten to shoot them if they moved, then I would call the cop, if they tried anything while I was calling the cops they'd get a nasty surprise. This same situation would apply if I couldn't get to a gun in time and would have to use one of my bladed weapons, of course that's factoring in their arms and a best case scenario.

Seriously. If you're going to become a burglar, at least figure out how to pick a lock without waking up everyone in the house.

In America ( I think only some states have this ) there is a Stand Your Ground law, or Castle Doctrine. Im sure it states that legally you can kill anyone who breaks into your home, regardless of whether they themselves are armed or not. I may be wrong here, I read up on this a while ago so I may have gotten the details a bit wrong, but Im really sure its called the Castle Doctrine.

Call the police first and try to assess the situation without being seen. There may be more than one and they could be carrying lethal weapons like switchblades and guns. It's better not to have yourself killed and leave your family without a son or father but it's all easier if you have a gun. Or if you and your neighbor has a gun and you can tagteam.

I live in Texas, so that stand your ground law would have my dad pump him full of lead before I do anything... I would put them in a sleeper hold, put them to sleep, then sit on them to prevent them from getting up while calling police.

I would grab my off-duty weapon, challenge them and identify myself as a police officer. If they started to come up the stairs towards the bedroom I would open fire. Not going to risk the lives of my family if he somehow gets a lucky shot on me and knocks me out.
