I don't care if people feel that way. I don't care enough to even come up with witty comebacks. I wouldn't say much of anything because there's really nothing to say. Comments like that don't bother me or affect me. I like playing video games, yes, but I know that I'm not stupid or immature. Plus..uh..it's not like video games are unpopular. Pretty much everyone has at least some experience with them.
I would say 'go F- yourself' and turn the other way. I would not feel bad at all, most people that make fun of gamers are too busy trying to be 'cool' that finding something they love to do.
Seriously, I LOVE video games, I will never stop playing them (maybe sllow down)

I don't ever have to worry about that because millions of people play video games, but if that did happen, I would just ignore the person and walk away.
I'd respond "Yeah, an entire industry that's bigger than all of Hollywood put together, considered an art form, an outlet for creativity, that has a massive quarterly revenue, with many of it's gamers from all ages and ethnicity's. Yea, that's immature/stupid. Actually by today's standards, you're the stupid/immature one for thinking video games are stupid/immature!" Then I'd laugh and ignore them. Or if I was tired or lazy at the time "Shut up, and you're stupid" And if they caught me in a really bad mood, I'd just attack them :|:lol: But if someone says that, it's just their opinion and I can't change that.

It's like arguing over each others favorite sport, one likes Baseball, the other Football, and if one calls the other stupid, the other will try and argue that. :P It's not on the level of religious arguements, I would consider it just a light-hearted debate. And one of the few things I know is gaming, and I'm going to argue that with facts. That and I hate to lose over something I know that well and respect. I couldn't change their opinion on not liking it, but I would sure as hell try to make them see it as a serious business. Not an immature one. But if they were just doing to annoy me or be a troll, then I'd ignore them.
I'd show that person my report card and the schoolarships I've received over the course of the years... actually, that's too much work. I'll just tell that person to do some research. ~ de arimasu :P

It's definately just people trying to be elitist when saying something like that. Most likely they're the same people who would say "Get a life" or "go get some real friends" but gladly spend all day on Myspace, Facebook, or looking at their phones, and the only contact they have with friends is when they're fighting.
At least, that's my experience with those types of people.

I told her to shut the hell up because she's a racist little b****. My friend then told her the average gamer was 27 years old or something like that and this was when I was 15 and he was 16 2 years ago. She then went on to talk about how they are immature and how her boyfriend who lives 2 hours away would never play them because he's too cool. I hated her so much and so did everyone else. I once did a fat basta** impression from Austin Powers since I was overweight at the time and she thought I was impersonating a black person and threaten to have her boyfriend come from Chicago to kick my ass. What a dumb ****.

I don't like hanging out with people who view video games as something only children play. It is a perfectly legitimate hobby. I just find it a little embarrassing to talk about it in front of women for some reason, probably because most of the ones I meet view video games as a children's toy. I just need to find someone who likes them as much as me.
Shrug it off. I don't need anyone's opinion on gaming, than my own. Because most likely they haven't played a video game before. Plus video games are a great form of entertainment, thats interactive and take you places where movies, or books can't-- you're own little world.
