Much like Lysander Spooner, I would be an abolitionist who supported the right of states to secede from the union. Afterall, the anti-federalist founding fathers never would've drafted the constitution if they thought that states would be forced to stay in the union.
neither. I would use the ensuing chaotic atmosphere to run rampant killing anybody who crossed me the wrong way.
I'd be for the full abolition of slavery and full equal rights for all. So I would be considered a huge radical, but I'm not sure I would want to stop secession from happening.
I'd be chillin' in California, sitting it out, watching the people make asses of themselves by killing their own people.
Screw that, I aint killing my fellow countrymen
Compared to the standards of today I would hard time fighting for either side.. Both sides were quite racist.sSubZerOo
not to mention a lot of southern states have a large population of black and hispanic people.
As with most wars it usually depends on your background/beliefs which usually stem from where you were born/live. If I lived in the south I would have probably agreed that the money hungry northerners were suppressing the south. If I lived in the north I'm sure I would have seen the south as a bunch of traitors to the glorious union. Both sides believed that were righteous in their cause. Slavery did not become an issue until later in the war.

Those whoentered the war enteredfor their ownreasons. It was just a matter of when & why?
It's possible theNorth's Anti-slavery campaign was just a way to get support from sympathizersand negros within the north andcreate guerrilla factions within the south. Of course the U.Sgovernment won'tallow a theory of deceptionperpetrated by the union.
I live in Georgia. Long Live The Confederacy!-Apathy-
Hey i live in Georgia. BURN the Confederacy.
(yeh im black, so its not even a choice for me)
being as i'm from georgia, i would fight for the confederacy
needled24-7
I'll say it again.
BURN the Confederacy
Thanks for calling us rebel scum..... XD4NTESINF3RNOX
He didn't call you rebel scum. He called Confederates rebel scum. And I can't say I disagree with that statement.
Things are never so simple...good/bad...slavery/not...stuff like that is for textbooks at school In reality, the North just wanted to stick it to the South (take away the labor force in the rural South) and drum up "moral" support The North had no desire for equality...as evidemced by the treatment of Blacks after the war in all areasUnion, the Confederacy is terrible at the time. They wanted slavery. Even though I live in Georgia, I'd go for the Union.

Slavery is one of the things that caused the Civil War. The South wanted slavery to still be in force.
That was not the cause...only one of many issues...my hope is that when you get to college, you get to learn a little more accurate American History than that which is taught in junior high and high schoolI would join the Union if they didn't have lackluster generals. Lonelynight
The more I look into the war the less I believe this to be true: the North had many great generals. Name me some Confederate generals other than Lee and Stonewall Jackson. Most people can't. They have just as many crappy ones as we did.
Since I live in NY and had ancestors who fought for the Union, I would be unable to fight for the CSA. At the same time I completely sympathize with the CSA. Canada here I come :P
