If the world recognized aliens as real, could we cope as a society?

hypothetical scenario where a video/media comes out proving this as a reality. a revelation, and the governments were all telling us to remain calm as we are assured safety and protection as they are on talking terms.    Would our markets crash?   what would happen knowing factually we arent the only lifeform out there?     we would have protests to meet these cool aliens?   would we have human observation for aliens so they dont have to come down to earth and abduct, they will have a alien site??   tell me what would happen in your opinion.   Im interested in hearing what you think.

really?   It would be something that would have to convince, which in reality would be pretty hard to do.    IF it was a reality I think the world would be unstable, they would want answers.

The Aliens would probably find there is no intelligence life here and move on.

I'd think the only people who'd really have a problem would be religious folk. 

anyone with that level of tech would basically be gods to us that would be able to do things that would literally look exactly like magic from our perspective so we would do whatever they told us to do.
