That's like thesists asking why there's a life-sustaining universe if there is no god.
Â
Who says there has to be a "why"?
Â
If there's no god, what makes you think that there has to be a purpose to life or the laws of physics?
Â
If there IS a god, then who says that there has to be some purpose to there being a god?
Â
If there is a god, then does there even have to be a reason WHY there is a god? The existence of any god could be just as pointless as the existence of a godless universe in which all life will eventually die and become dead scattered atoms littering the vast cosmos. Â
With your statement being said, consider Exodus 3:13-14, "Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, 'What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?" God said to Moses, "I am who I am . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.' "
The very name of God is I AM. Anytime you read the Old Testament and it says LORD in all caps, it is saying the name YHWH. This name literally means I AM. You ask, If there is a God then why is there a God? My answer is simply, HE IS!
This might be cheesy but I don't care! :P
If there is a god do you think he knows he is god? I mean when we play The Sims or Spore, we have alot of creative power, but we dont think we are god. Sure they are just games, but what if we are just games too? I mean god did make us right? Just like we made video games. And if there is a god, are there more of his species or is he the only one?
^The above post assumes that its a proven fact that god exists.

You are human, you can't explain those who belongs to a higher level with your normal senseshellside
Oh, but so many of us do love to try.
why cant people just accpet that some believe in god some dont? it dosent effect your life comon. I belive there a god i also believe in alines and ghost. fbigent34
because silly things like superstition, mythology, and religion all serve no purpose other than to directly impede the advancement of the human species. The more people that believe there is an invisible man pulling all the strings behind the scenes that we'll never understand, the fewer people we have trying to actually investigate those proverbial strings.
---edit---
these things wouldn't have such a negative impact if it weren't for the fact that most every system of beliefs rely on the sole tenet of viral propogation.
Hooray for superstition!
Boo for logic!
Who needs to actually explore, examine, and learn about the origin of the universe or the nature of being when we can say a wizard did it?! It's so simple! Now I can rest easy.
The real question is: If there is a God is he as good as people say?Tuky06
That's for the TC to decide. But either he's really REALLY abstract or we are all too dumb.Â
[QUOTE="harashawn"]I don't get it. :?CBR600-RR
It's simple, if there is a God then why does he exist? Confusing topic title tbh.
I don't see the point in contemplating superfluous things like this. it isn't something we will ever need to know. Any attempt to answer this question usually ends in a Cartesian fallacy.wut???
The idea is that he exists outside of our dimensions including time, he created time and so just exists
