If they could make an exceptionally good video game movie, which one would you want it to be?

Couple rules here:
Pick the director, and the actors/actresses that would "star in it."

For me, I still think they could make a great Halo movie. I'd want Alfonso Cuaron to direct it, and I'd want the voice actor from the game to play the Chief. Same for Arbiter. Kinda tossed up for who would play Johnson. I think Jessica Chastain could pull off a great Cortana voice, and I'd want her to be a major component of the story.

With the right B movie tone, I also think they could make an awesome Gears of War movie. Maybe someone like Guy Ritchie or Robert Rodriguez could direct. Tossed up between those two. Travolta as Marcus Fenix, Lester Speight as Cole (obviously), not sure about Dom, and, as weird as it sounds, Alan Tudyk as Baird. Again, if they KNEW to make it half cheese fest, half no-holds barreled action movie, I think it could work really well.

No More Heroes

Is Mortal Kombat(1995) still the greatest video game movie of all time?

I agree with this, at least with Resident Evil: Retribution.

Many people complain, but what they don't seem to get is that Resident Evil was a campy B-movie to begin with, that eventually evolved into a Roger Moore like Bond like action series with sexy woman kicking butt. In that regard, Resident Evil Paul W. S. Anderson is spot on the mark.

He uses plot elements from the series, creatures, characters that look near mirrors to the video game and outright copies scene per scene, video game footage.

For me I enjoyed Resident Evil: Retribution alot, it had a great intro, cool fight scenes, references to other games (Halflife 2/Mortal Kombat) and it ripped off Aliens shamelessly. The movie ends with Wesker as President Of The United States walking around as if he shat himself onset.

Great.

Ratchet and Clank, which is why I'm pretty excited for the movie coming out next year.

Don't mind abit of exploitation, it's in line with the game series as well remember, Resident Evil 3 shoves Jill Valentine in a short skirt and boob-tube, 4 makes references to Ashleys breasts, 5 once again shoves Jill Valintine in a tight catsuit and opens with a Sheva buttshot and 6 is basically Capcom shoving as many beautiful characters as they can on screen.

Having said that, Alice sucks; from reading the wiki (because Resident Evil movies need it lol) she was suppose to be an amalgamation of characters but later through pressure they started added real characters in. She shuckysucks and it sucks seeing real Resident Evil characters standing around like twats while she does all the leg work.

Nothing. I would rather they just make another game with more of the plot rather than seeing it expounded or retold in a movie.

I would've liked to have seen the Bioshock movie been made. Although in lieu of real actors, I would've went the CGI route.
