I'm joining the army anyway, so yes. Doom_HellKnight
if war ever broke out inside your country would you join the army? me personally. i would. when a civil war broke out in Mozambique (my country)in 1975 and lasted till 1992 1 million people were killed. i was born in 1993 but of all the stories and documentaries I've heard I'm still angry that the rebel leaders weren't jailed for their atrocities. just one of the stories I'll tell is that the rebels used to force moms to kill their babies. in one of their offensives they cold bloodily cut a government commanders head off and they hung it with a stick in front of a highway and they also took the body, boiled it, mixed it with maize and forced the captured government forces to eat his body. The war never reached major cities. I'm surprised to believe that those rebels that committed atrocities against civilians and enemies are the 2nd most popular political party in Mozambique. My goverment was partly to blame because they wouldn't launch offensives, they would just chase the rebels out whenever there was trouble, but all my respect goes to the government forces who fought in the war, the soldiers were brave, disciplined and never committed acts of atrocity to civilians or the rebels (despite the rebels being brutal). Government forces captured prisoners and sent them to trial , rebel forces tortured prisoners and killed them. This drives me to believe that if war ever breaks out inside my country I will join the army; i want to protect my people.
No. Think about it, you could get sick, shot, injured, and worse of all for me, you could get tortured severely. I'd break under the pressure if some guy was pulling out my nails, snapping my fingers, and doing all those things that happens while you're being tortured. Comissario, would u still join if you could be possibly captured and tortured?hydralisk86
sure i would. after the atrocities of my country's civil war, i wouldn't hesistate. i would rather be tortured than feeling like i did nothing to help my people
Do you mean civil war? or invasion by a foreign power?
If a civil war, I would join which ever side is closer to me.
If invasion then yes.
SunofVich
i meant civil war
If you mean civil war..........it would talk alot for western countries today to fall into civil war. Don't forget you guys, the people who said "no," that antagonistic feelings precede a civil war. Chances are, I'd join the side I believed in. But, is a civil war viable anymore in the USA, or any other western European country (and Canada/Australia, of course)?

I don't know much about torture, but is it possible you could lose your sanity, your emotional wellness from extreme torture?Im doing the marines after college anyways so yeah I would join up in a heart beat if a meanigfull war broke out.
I think everyone has an obligation to do something for their country that helps it out.
Edit: and the people that say they are going to run to another counrty I consider quite cowardice.
Not me. If it got close to where I live at, I'd join in but I would not leave my town to join some warfastesttruck
So, if you live in CA say, and the entire east coast was conquered, you would still sit in your house watching it all unfold on TV?
As for the topic, yes I would.
Depends who is involved in the war. Civil war? Nah, that's gotton so old here. :P
If it was Nazis or the Russians invading then probably.
