Id take the p**ssies out of the NHL, im lookin at you FranzenProtestTheJOEL
On second thought let's get rid of the idiots. Like the goalie that slashed Franzen during the 2007 payoffs.

Oh, the irony.
Actually, I wouldn't care so much if the Bible was proven just a story OR if evolution was just made up. I'd just be happy knowing the truth.[QUOTE="theone86"][QUOTE="Pyro767"]I'd resolve the religion thing and find the truth. The one truth. So that everyone agrees with it. I'd just be happy knowing the truth. What does evolution have to do with any of that? Uh, how about the fact that atheists believe in evolution almost completely and theists don't in general. And why are you arguing with me? I said I'd be perfectly happy with becoming an atheist if I knew that it were the one truth, but I don't know that, and not you nor anyone else can force me to accept it as one truth until a point at which one truth has been totally revealed. Suck it.Oh, the irony.

Suck it. Evolution doesn't have any sort of theological implications at all, and the only reason why it's so controversial and brought up in these sorts of discussions is because of religious fundamentalists that pick out anything that conflicts with their beliefs. And I'd really like to see how you can make any sort of correlation between the acceptance of evolution and theism. I'm not trying to argue with you, and I'm not trying to convince you to accept evolution. I'm just trying to explain that evolution isn't directly related to religion.[QUOTE="-Chimera-"][QUOTE="Pyro767"] Actually, I wouldn't care so much if the Bible was proven just a story OR if evolution was just made up. [QUOTE="moose_knuckler"]World Hunger anyone?theone86
Solve poverty, solve hunger. Solve hunger and there still exists a myriad of problems.

When you take into account centralization of wealth, the amount of wasted resources, and the fact that not everyone needs to eat like one of those medieval kings that always has a giant drumstick larger than his fist on hand. Besides, if you solve poverty you solve alienation. Because individuals no longer have exorbitant wealth and resources they are forced to rely more on each other, they interact more with each other, and they are more knowledgable of the problems that face people other than themselves. One of the reasons resources are so scarce is overpopulation and if people were more interdependent they might not only be more careful about how they use their resources but more keen to the overpopulation problem and more willing to try and curb it (And no, not through N1H1, through profilactics and proper birth control).
The difficulty and cost of producing a reliable, functional Fusion Reactor. Those things are about 7 times more powerful than the Fission Plants we've got now, and they'd pretty much kill off our energy issues if we were to get them in sufficient quantity.
i would change the laws of physics so we can leave our solar system (this is a selfish one as i want to go into space:P)
Ignorance.
Call me naive, but I think if people weren't ignorant everything else would just start falling into place on its own.
I choose ignorance.enterawesomeI'd choose this, but that takes everything out of life. If we knew everything, there would be nothing to learn. We would be nearly omnipotent, and life would be boring. It's a lose-lose situation really.

I don't think solving ignorance necessarily means we would know everything, if everyone got some kind of college-level knowledge, that would still be a BIG improvement.
