This is the live version of Stan with Elton John. For those of you that are a fan of Em or even just this song, which version do you prefer? This or the studio version with Dido?

I love this version so I was just wondering.

Oh, a little back story too. Before these Grammys there was an uproar in the media about how Eminem was a woman-abusing homophobe and they were outraged that he was nominated for anything. Anyways, Eminem responded by preforming his most popular and critically-acclaimed tracks with one of the most openly homosexual performers in the world and went so far as to hug Elton on stage in front of the world. That's part of the reason why I enjoy this more then the original.

I think I remember hearing the Elton John version on the Curtain call album but I could be wrong. When I heard it I liked it better then the original and not for any particular reason either I just think it goes with the song better.

Edit: But that doesn't mean I don't like Elton John. I actually like many of his songs.

not a massive fan of rap. okay i dislike most of it, but Eminem is one of the few rap artists i quite like. i cant decide which version i prefer, it may well fall down to whether my like for this version is made better just by the randomness of Elton dueing with Eminem.

Just another example of how amazing Eminem is.

I forgive him for the couple crap cd's he put out. Stuff like this, the Marshall Matters LP, Eminem Show, and Recovery are just so great.

It's a good performance but I prefer the original.

I dunno, the performance just doesn't have the same haunting atmosphere that the original does.

Maybe because of the lack of Dido (not that I'm dissing Elton).

I like this version better, even though Stan is not one of my favorites of MM's. Elton John's voice is awesome, no matter where it is.
