I'd keep it and probably buy myself some new furniture or electronics.

It really depends. I mean, I'm not gonna go find a police station and turn it in. If there was some kind of identification, maybe I would turn it in. Or give it to a bank if the bank's name is on it.
If there is no way to distinguish any kind of owner, I'd probably just keep it. I'm a poor college student sorry.
Depends...Is it a roundish bag with a dollar sign on it? If so, then yes. I've always wanted one of those bags. megagenelmao, and it would make the "CHA-CHING" noise when you pick it up :P anyway, i'd keep all da money to myself.
Depends if it's in plain view like you know in the middle of a city, or street, or a builidng then i'd probably turn it in. However if I happened to stumble across $1000 in a place that you really wouldn't expect to find $1000 in i'm keeping it.
in most cases I would keep it. If it was somewhere where the owner may be close by I would return it though.
if it had no name or anything, I would keep it.
if it had a name, I'd take 100 bucks and then return it.
I am conflicted I really want to say I would turn it in but with my income it takes me anywhere from 3-6 months to make that kind of money. Anways I really hope that I would turn it in.
I'm Muslim and in our religion you must try to find the owner for a lil bit of time by newspaper, mosque,or police ,and if u don't find him you can take the money legally

i like that rule, its fair.
in my country you'd turn it in and never see it again i think
*even if the original owner did not claim it.
If the owner would be in the immediate vicinity I would give it back you cant just let go that much cash after you took it home and showed him your room.
Though If would have lost it I would like it back, though I dont know who is stupid enough to lose 1000$, if you are poor and walking around with that kind of money then you take care of it, if you are rich you just dont care that much. I have never lost money in my life. Money should be handled responsably if he or she didnt handle it to well then your as responsable as it gets, buying a new ps3 and preordering games LOL.
Depends, really. If I found it in a wallet with some means of ID, I'd turn it in to the police. But if it turned up like the figurative pot of gold with no way of telling whose it was, well - that's another matter altogether. Let's say it was 100% impossible to return it, I'd probably try to extract maximum value from it, preferably by going to http://www.dubli.com to blow a bit (they really do save you loads of money) and thereafter I guess I'd invest it. Sure, the economy's terrible right now, but all the more reason to make a longterm investment!
Same here. College is draining my cash.It really depends. I mean, I'm not gonna go find a police station and turn it in. If there was some kind of identification, maybe I would turn it in. Or give it to a bank if the bank's name is on it.
