WMU puts you on academic probation, and if you don't bring it up above 2.0 next semester you get kicked out.

I know when I was in college, if you fell below a 2.0 gpa you were at risk of losing your financial aid.

Are you mentally disabled or something? How could you possibly get such terrible grades? Anything under an A is pathetic.

At my school, you get put on probation, another quarter below 2.0 and it's a suspension. One more quarter and you get kicked out. But anyone with a pulse should never stoop below a 3.0...

If your GPA is impossible to bring up to a 2 because of a ridiculously low GPA(ii.e less than a 1) they will probably keep you as long as your GPA increases.

Whatever GPA you get is pretty irrelevant as long as it above a 2 in most cases in your first two years. If you are going ot do a masters in something you have to get a 3 and above in your last two years.

The only way (well my first college) to get kicked out first semester is to get a 0.70 or something. Basically you failed all/majority your classes with Fs. I know this from experience because I had a very rocky end of the year with on and off sickness and whatnot. But there's no shame in going to community college. That's what I did while I got my situation figured out.

You go on  academic probation and you have a semester to bring it back over a certain GPA.

I've never actually been in that situation ,but I believe that is the policy at my university.

If you drop bellow a 2.0 you clearly aren't ready to handle college, or you're too stupid for college.  Either way you should get your shit together.

It depends how much below 2.0 you are and how many credits you have left? Either way, most likely you'll be put on Academic probation, and have to improve your GPA, this has not happened to me, but my school discussed this at orientation. If you have a 1.7-1.9, I'd stay in school and try to get above a 2.0 or at least show improvement, otherwise continue at your own expense.

My university puts you on academic probation automatically if you get below a 2 no matter how many credits you have. This is what I heard from some of my friends that actually got below a 2 in their first semester of university. I have never gotten below a 2 before.

Yes, happened to my sister, though it took her a year of never showing up to classes and getting all zeros. If you do you'll probably get a warning first. It depends if your cumulative is below 2.0 or you just had a bad quarter. There are means to get a bad quarter wiped from your record, like maybe getting a hardship withdrawal for the classes you did bad in, or you can retake them for a better grade. If you're asking such questions you should probably reflect on why you're doing bad. Some classes are unforgiving and will give you zeros for the entire quarter for missing one assignment, you might be able to haggle in such cases to get an incomplete, and then do what is required to receive a grade. Some classes grade on attendance and will mark you down a grade for being late a certain number of times, which sometimes is bad on larger campuses where you have to go a long way between buildings in a short amount of time. Then again, some people goof around in college, don't do homework, don't go to lectures, don't study, don't do the readings, spend too much time partying or playing video games. If you're applying yourself tough and still failing then maybe you need to speak to an adviser, or other students, they can help you pick those easy prerequisites that won't apply for your major to help boost your GPA. Try focusing on your major though, the freedom to choose classes can also sometimes lead people astray, and lead to a lack of interest and motivation. Hope things work out for you, college can be a great time in your life and make a better future for yourself if you do things right.

They were meant as two separate questions, because if you are under 2.0 but only have so many credits left, it may be impossible to raise your GPA above 2.0.
