If you like Beavis and Butthead, tell me why

I watched a few episodes of Beavis & Butthead recently, just because I never saw any before and I was curious. And now I'm just plain ol' confused, because I can't see how this show ever became such a cultural phenomenon. I mean, the animation is terrible and the jokes are very hit-or-miss. Also, the constant snickering that punctuates the dialogue of the two main characters gets really annoying and actually drags everything down. ("Hey, Beavis. Huh-huh-huh. That was huh-huh cool. Huh-huh. I wonder if we could like huh-huh paint a cat's butt huh-huh and make it look like a face huh-huh-huh.")

Why is this show popular?

I think it's just a cool thing to like it? Well I mean for most people. Not sure..

One time my friend had me sit and watch youtube videos of it, she'd laugh and I didn't find it funny and she was acting like something was wrong with me. "How do you NOT find this funny?"

I don't get it. I guess to each their own!

It's one of those shows that were hip and fresh during it's time but haven't aged well since. The show is an icon of the 90's and I remember watching it back in its prime as a little kid I found the delivery of speech (heh-heh-heh| neh-nehaha) hilarious.

Basically, there was nothing else like it at the time.

The show hasn't aged well, but when it came out there wasn't many shows like it at the time.

It's not just Beavis & Buttheads characters, but the others in the cartoon, like the hippy teacher, the mad coach, the Hank Hill type neighbor. Lots of zany characters in the show. But yeah, it's not that great. Just fun in bursts.
