Has anyone else ever loved something but after hearing alot of other ppl like it, u dont like it as much or at all? like free bird that song is awesome and could listen to it alot but after millions of ppl obsses over it and how every single freaking person knows of it i start to not care for it as much. anyone else like this and have something that they like or used to after everyone else liked it?
No. Other people liking something that I like doesn't make me like it any less. But if I'm constantly hearing people talk about it then, yeah I'll start to like it less.
Ehhh, I used to get like that a bit, but I don't let it affect me anymore. I don't really care if I like something that happens to go very mainstream. That shouldn't change your love for it.
I'm the same. When Dani California came out, I was excited because I have listened to RHCP since the early 90's. Then everyone at my school heard it one mtv and they claimed they were fans of the band. I then hated the song so much....
Not at all. I like The Beatles and so does everyone else in the world. Now, if I experienced something I liked too many times then I might not like it as much, but its popularity doesn't matter to me the least bit.
Oh, and FYI, all people have loved Free Bird ever since it was first released.
i can't think of something i completely hate just because a lot of other people like but i do get annoyed. Like for example, we have Unreal Tournament in our school and almost everyone in our school has found it out. So now all i hear is like scrubs talking about how godlike they are at UT. When in fact all the servers are full of scrubs. Also, my favorite band escape the fate used to be more underground but all of the sudden they exploded and every scene kid likes their music. They are still my favorite, i just get annoyed with all these kids listening to like their mainstream songs and thinking they are true fans.

Same exact thing. I loved escape the fate, my favorite band. Now its just sorta eh because all these other kids are obsessing over it and think they are their biggest fan.
I dunno after guitar hero 3 I started to get bored of Dragonforce and everyone talking about how awesome they were. I still listen to them some times and I dont hate them I wont change my opinion on them because of others opinions but I definitely listen to less then I use too
I like what I like and don't care what other people are into. I thought The Dark Knight was a great film, and the fact that it's the most popular film of 2008 by far doesn't change that.
No. I think the whole "now that it's popular I hate it" mindset is stupid. If I like something I could give a flip less if the whole world is into it or no one is. That being said I do like it when say NIN release a new album and it gets praise or sells a decent amount, because I've been a fan for years. But that's all I care about in terms of other peoples opinion of my likes and dislikes.
stop making your identity revolve around things that are out of your hands to manipulate or control entirely, if you dislike other people assimilating the same things and adding it to their perception of who they are.

Nah, I had a phase like that when I was younger, but now I don't really mind. Of course, it helps that my tastes tend to not be very mainstream, but like some people here have said, I like what I like, and if everyone else seems to also like it, then great, their tastes must be improving. ;)
